Where are the best places to look for jobs in Australia?

Hope someone can advise.

I'd put the date the corrections were approved (it's a certainty then isn't it?) and once you get the final letter I'd start using that date.

Ady, Don't worry as I've still to expand on mine and anticipate it being around 22,000 +

The one thing I am confident about is the quantity of my literature review is necessary so that everything is covered but I'm breaking it down into two chapters and haven't even started the other!

Mine is 12,000

Slow down and be kind to yourself...

You've not long started and the start can be overwhelming. Think about what is priority and break things down into little steps and it will seem less of a slog. Just knocking small bits off will make you feel better and and relieve some stress, allowing you to think more clearly about what next needs to be done.

I'm the same, although I'm only at the writing up phase. Keep going and just think to yourself the more you get done the more you can put behind you!

Many thanks for responding. You make very good points but I've moved around in the past for jobs etc and always ended back unemployed. For me, at this time in my life, I just want to be at home and as long as I could collect a wage I'd be happy enough.

To be honest, he doesn't have a team and only seems to have PhD students who can bring their own funding with them or are prepared to self-fund. I don't think he has much pull which is why he networks like crazy in my opinion.

No, you didn't misunderstand me wrong and so don't apologise. To be honest, I'm going to try and save my skin as I seriously can't stand the idea of being unemployed and that's the most likely outcome but I'm going indicate my desire to stay in academia - not in all honesty what I want though.

Thanks Ady. I've only had 8 meetings in total, I think. I got the feeling one thought we shouldn't need meetings anymore but is prepared to meet up anyway. I really like them, as people, but get the feeling they try to get as many PhD students as they can and don't cope too well with the pressure when they have them.

I'm so glad you've heard from your supervisors and that they were trying to be sensitive to your needs. Please try to keep your chin up.
