How long did it take for you to do your corrections?

Sorry but I'm not in a position to answer your question but you're so very nearly there, just keep going and you'll get there and when you do it'll all be behind you. YOU CAN DO IT. I'm rooting for you!!!

24 Hours Post-Viva and Not Sure How to Feel
D

I'm sorry to hear that you overheard the examiners prior to starting the Viva - that's terrible, must have been very upsetting and you have my total admiration for facing it. You came through it which is great and you've adopted a fantastic attitude. Be proud as you have every right to be and WELL DONE!!! (up)(up)(up)

Really basic stats question!!

I'm not entirely sure if I understand your needs (I'm social sciences) but I used G*Power to calculate the sample size needed in order to test for significance.

Do supervisors get a wink and a nod?

Is that true then? I have heard that the external examiners opinion carries a lot more weight than the internal (makes sense in a way).

Yes, sorry, I could have given a better title to warn people of the content. I wouldn't like to be reading this thread if I was so close to Viva...

Thanks everyone. I thought maybe all supervisors knew but only some hinted to their students. It would be great if this process was more standardised, wouldn't it?

Just curious, do examiners informally communicate to supervisors the likely outcome of the Viva, BEFORE the Viva? I think, but could be wrong, examiners submit a report to the research office prior to Viva and I just wanted to know if supervisors had access to this?

I ask because over time on this forum I've noticed that some supervisors seem to be able to give their students a heads up as to the likely outcome.

======= Date Modified 23 Feb 2011 10:59:51 =======
Hi all,

I have a statistics question and think the answer must be so obvious that I'm too embarrassed to ask here (i've google searched, read books etc but am no further on. If anyone is very knowledgable as regards statistics could they offer help and I'll PM them.

This is why I'm running mine through turn it in!
D

That makes sense. Thanks for explaining Sneaks.

I didn't know students had access to Turn It In. Do they?
