My aunt living in the midlands is mates with my fiance's cousin and they got together and decided to set us up. We chatted for a few weeks before meeting up. Decided to get married 3 months later.....

Maria, I have absolutely no idea why you kept banging on about maturity and intelligence in PhD students. No one here is trying to say that doing a phd makes them more intelligent and mature than the normal person. In fact I'm the first to admit that I'm incredibly immature, the word poo still makes me giggle.

You don't really read what people are saying, you blatently read what you want to read.

They have a research training program at sheffield and some of the modules are to do with teaching. You can also do some kind of teaching qualification too.

I would consider it as I love teaching but I wont be staying on as an academic.

Ann, I always read the opposite. If you have a large derriere (like myself), stay away from pockets, they make them look even bigger.

My most flattering pair of jeans were ones without pockets on the back. Unfortunately I put on loads of weight thanks to this phd and they didn't fit so my mum threw them away
