I recall you posting about your problem of the university not issuing honours for class group for some administrative reason. It really is a very unusual situation that most academics will not have come across. For future applications I would therefore recommend if possible enclosing some kind of official letter from that uni explaining the situation. That might carry more weight than your explanation of the situation alone.

Just checked Glasgow, it was a rejection letter and I somehow didn't get the Email. I check the system multiple times a day. Will check the others, Reading

I heard back feedback and my lack of honours in my first degree is proving to be the hindrance and my degree classification in my MSc is not high enough!

I feel stuck as my course was closed in the honours year. So what can I do? Academically I struggle a little bit with essays etc. Should I just give up? I have no honours so why bother even trying to get an internship?

*sigh* I REALLY want to cry now. Or can anyone else help

Glasgow was early this year and Dundee about a month before Aberdeen. I am also waiting to hear back from a couple of jobs too. They were so long ago, I can't recall the supervisors.

Didn't get onto the Aberdeen PhD studentship. *sigh* Not heard from Dundee & Glasgow. Should I wait for them or ask what is going on?

I just feel miserable :(

PG diploma pharmaceutical sciences to Masters? with credit transfers? UK,CANADA?

For the newer ones, how to survive your first conference or writing for a journal paper? Mind you if you are in a big research group - the gang of you would most probably go to the conference together. When I was at the conference in Edinburgh last year, I could see the groups all together and Bristol had the largest group. There wasn't a lot of mixing going on!

I would suggest if you can, to attend meetings and conferences to get an idea of what to expect. I went to the Scottish Neuroscience Meeting and a major conference. I am glad I went to the conference as an attendee, as I know what they like so it wouldn't be nerve wrecking attending the conference and speak to the people with the posters to get an idea of how it works that way.

I am still applying for PhDs, problem is a lot of PhDs aren't in my field. I have registered with a few agencies for jobs and I haven't heard back.

Next I seen from the post office is that the position has been filled, NEXT TO THE COUNTER OF THE POST OFFICE! I am getting nowhere with the non - academic jobs as all they ask is for experience. Thats what I am trying to get.

Waiting to hear back from Dundee, Aberdeen & Nottingham, oh and Glasgow. I already had a PhD interview at Leicester a few years ago and that was without my MSc. *Fingers crossed for us all*

Having been in a position not unlike that, I would say if you haven't had a holiday, take some time out and it would be worse with the antidepressants. I think the very reason you are crying lots is because you are utterly stressed and your body needs to get rid of it.

Take care and have time with your kitties.
