U just feel u need to have done a PhD just coz ur friend is trying to make u jealous?? That phase will go away....Right now I am sure u r doing what u want coz u want it....If u really wanted to do ur PhD u can always do it later. But please dont do anything juts to keep up with the Joneses!!! Do what ur heart wants u to do....!!! Cheers!! I am sure u r great at whatever u r doing and enjoying it!!!!
Hey!!!!
Do u want to do a PhD in UK or India??? If u want to do a PhD in UK getting funding for ur chose of subject would be rather difficult for a non British citizen. If u want to do the PhD in India u can ask a lot of the alcohol companies to fund u... U will have to write to them personally, it will take a bit of time but one of them is sure to fund u....Y not ask Mallaya for funding ur PhD??:-) Cheers!!!!
Hey!!!!
Dont feel sooo bad... Usually when I feel low I just call up my close friend and unburden all my misery on the phone...and then I dont feel sooo bad...As for practical solutions to ur problems...
Abt the laptop- Check ot the new Virgin scheme where u can buy an internet and the laptop on pay monthly basis.Sounds gud na!!
Abt ur housemate-Request ur housemate to keep the volume down- most people usually respect ur personal space when u ask politely. So just ask!!!Or try getting to bed early and make the most of ur early waking up time...
Abt affording primary texts- I am sure u can burrow most of them from the library or ask ur circle of friends...I would also post on my college wall seeking help in this regard.
Just remember its one of those times when a lot of bad things has happened to u all at the same time....Dont worry u will tide over it.....Hang in there gurllll!!!! Im sendng u a hug to make u feel better....:-)
Hi!!!
I would like to work on what topic I like...since u like both, the second one would be based on what my strengths on the topics would be....Coz, it would be really frustrating to start learning too many new things during ur PhD..but the computer based project seems like it offers a lot more scope , since u can work both on computers and in the fiels of biology....Yeah!!! and also go for the one with the most understanding supervisor...coz thats one of the most important things during a PhD....(up)Best of luck with everything!!
Hi!!!
I would be pissed off too if I were u....but I feel ur advisor also needs to have some amount of loyalty towards you. Ask your advisor why this whole scenarior occured, mybe he can get u to work on that project again (or better still he has a better idea for you )....Dont be disheartened... these kind of this happen in life..plz dont quit on this matter....and however annoyed you r dont vent out your anger infrount of the other student , or worse ur advisor...Ask calmly but firmly.... Gud luck!!!
Hello!!! everyone,
I will be starting my second year this September, I was self funded the whole of last year and this year I want to get funding from some organisation. Can you guys recommend which organisations I can apply to? I am studying in the field of Nutrition, though my project is actually a Biochemistry project. I am an Indian national.
All help and suggestions are truly appreciated.
Cheers!!!:-)
