No comment. It's my day job, I have never heard anyone else being questioned as regards to their own day job. As I said, this is not the appropriate forum and I don't feel I need to comment,defend or reply to this. I am here for PhD support, sorry I mentioned the day job.

Yes, by the way, I homeschool, my children, I am older than most of you probably and I am doing a PhD fulltime, and I am mad, energetic and manic

I am also looking for ways to make money and right now, I have put together a box of things for Ebay. Just waiting for kind daughter to take some nice photos of them all. I am also looking for tutoring jobs etc. in the evenings as I have children to homeschool in the day.

Hi Corinne, glad I am not alone. Have turned down the music as I think my brain is frying! I am already fading and I had so many plans for tonight. I think a cup of tea is in order too, cheers !!

The husband is out, so I am working as hard as I can, whilst I have some peace!!!! I have awfully loud music coming out of my new speakers, sort of drowns out the monotony of working! (Good stereo, thank you, husband!)

I am also using fMRI and I have just bought Functional Resonance Imaging by Heuttel, Song and Mc Carthy, as suggested by my Prof. I also bought Handbook of Functional Neuroimaging of Cognition by Cabeza and Kingstone, eds. Both excellent books with all the physics etc. you will need. They are expensive, £50 but good quality hard covers that you could re-sell or keep. My Prof. has also arranged for me to sit in on the methods sections of the MSc fMRI course and is sending me to do the 3 day induction course on how to work the scanner.

Ok, golfpro, so what are the statistics....! I will be desperate in a few days....I am PinkNeuron, I am goodie two shoes but really, what are the statistics?

Yes, I have one from the OU but I haven't anything from Brunel as although I have been accepted etc. and have funding applications in place through my supervisor, they are being sticky and beaurocratic about me getting an Athens password etc. before I 'officially'turn up and register in Sep. Ridiculous at this level, I feel. I have tried to use the one for OU but it doesn't seem to want to work anymore as my student page is no longer active and I think the two are linked. I am still busy tinkering here. I have a demo version from the SPSS website but it will only last another 14 days. I am going to have a lot of stats analysis in my project so I want to make sure I can handle the level by then.

Oops, meant to delete Brunel and put in 'uni', looks like I forgot and now you all know where I will be, oh well

Hi hard-working bank holiday weekend people....
I have downloaded a demo version of SPSS and I have an OU Version of it as well with pre-loaded data. I wanted to know if anyone knew where the cheapest place was to buy a full version of SPSS. I only officially start at my Brunel in Sep. but I know I have to master a lot of stats by then so I really need to get cracking......
