Try and download a free trial of CLeanmymac. Then from the application folder drag whatever you want to delete to 'Uninstall Application'. CLeanmymac will get rid off everything that's connected to that application.

No, I paid for it, for me it was well worth it, as it is much more easier, IMO, as dropbox, or yousendit. It's quite quick! I send gigabytes a lot of the times and it takes around 2-3 minutes (max 4-5), and then I just paste the link it gives me into the email, and the person I sent it to can just click on that and download the stuff.

I email big files quite regularly. If you have a mac filechute is one of the best applications, IMO.

Could you do some unpaid work at your local paper? At some point I was thinking about getting into journalism and I contacted the local paper maybe a months before the Easter break whether they had any unpaid positions during that time. They got back to me quite soon and offered me an unpaid position for 3 weeks. It was great, I had around 6 articles published (the first two heavily edited, but after that not so much) and definitely learned a lot. I think I contacted the editor, and then a senior reporter got back to me with the offer.

That would be a great way to gain some experience, you could get a couple of articles published and after that you could do an NCTJ, get some money together and do the MA.

I was in a similar situation when I applied for a job. I called them up and they said that if I email it they will just ask me to sign the form when/if they call me in for an interview.

I think it's also fine to just say "please find attached". They will want to print it out and it's just easier to print out a document, then an email.

Sneaks, I think unless you travel a lot to places that don't have wi-fi connection you just simply don't need the 3G. If I get one I will just go with the only wi-fi model.

lupinpooter, I'm not sure about zooming in, but on the ebooks you can change the font size (almost like zooming...), and I guess that should work for the PDFs as well.

Does anyone have one? Is it worth getting one? I have been looking at the new one on Amazon, but can't make up my mind whether to get one or not. Are many academic books available on it (mainly humanities)? What's the experience of people who have one?
