congratulations

i really should work this weekend - i've got so much to do. However, im actually going away. Dunno if i can live with the guilt...

I've walked away from every presentation ive ever done feeling like an absolute numpty. I usually get pretty angry at myself too. I'm usually most worried about what my supervisor(s) and other colleagues think of me.

I think its very common to feel low after a presentation - but the truth is, majority of the audience don't judge you as harsh as you may think.

Don't be too hard on yourself. And don't let any frustrations (or in my case, insecurities) put you off doing more presentations in the future.

How on earth did i manage to miss the whole of April...?

literature review (invlolving all the reading, understanding, thinking, writing, editing, re-writing...) to be completed by monday; need to learn to use a new software package and analyse/write up some data by monday; piece together a lab talk for next wednesday...the list goes on!!!

I know how you feel Bazzab, its all too much!!

its been highly recommended to me, and ive heard nothing but good things about it.

21. And im still 21. Made me feel quite special that im quite young to be doing a PhD at first - until i realised other people saw me as TOO young and inexperienced. perhaps there's a lot to be said for starting a PhD at 103!

it went OK, cheers! Got a bit confused at times and turned into a blithering idiot...but thats what im like anyway! Always hard to tell what people REALLY thought about the talk, but on the whole, i'd class it as a success!

Just about to give my first lab talk (17minutes and counting)...shame i havent really done that much in the lab...

Im finding 12K is enough for me to live comfortably...probably because im a single man with no expensive habits...a part from booooze.
