Hi Cindrella, Hope this week goes well and all your experiments work fine. I liked your approach of switching to writing - I am sure you will feel good to have tangible output. Good luck for your writing. Yeah, I am also completing third yr in 2 days. I can understand what you feel. Two months back I thought I would collapse and would never be able to completely rewrite the entire analysis chapters. But, I could submit 4 analysis chapters (around 45,000 words) to sups. I feel much relief but feeling bit tired now. Anyway, we have to maintain our energy - my target is to submit first draft by December last. Swetch
Hi Determined_daisy, how is yr corrections going on? I am almost done with chapter 9 and submitting tomorrow. Chapter 10 too nearly done...was working on both chapters. Will be submitting chapter 10 on coming Monday. God, can't believe I will be done with all analysis chapters by the end of this week :-)
Hi, just seen yr post in the other thread. Glad that you got yr draft back. I can understand managing everything in 2 weeks of time will be tough but how nice..after two weeks you will be done with yr thesis. I am almost done with chapter 9 and chapter 10 is halfway. Hopefully, will be able to submit two chapters in the ten days time. I will then be working on conclusion chapter and corrections in the rest of the chapters will start thereafter. Good luck with yr corrections, Determined_daisy!
I have a similar question. I assumed my analysis which involves (Content analysis and Discourse Analysis) as a mixed method. I have one chapter in which I did content analysis. The rest four analysis chapters are qualitative. But, I have quantitatively analysed some responses of the participants in one of these mainly qualitatively analysed chapter. My supervisor does not like saying this as a mixed method. As per them, this is 'limited quantification of the qualitative data' and I removed saying 'mixed method' in my Methodology chapter. I rather stated: This is the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods in which qualitative methods had precedence over quantitative method. I am convinced to state like this but bit worried if the examiner ask why not used 'mixed method'. Sups say this is not the mixed method although the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods since this is mainly the qualitative analysis and quantitative part is just to support my qualitative analysis. Hi Cindrella,
I am also planning to submit two chapters in the last week of Sept. I almost completed one which needs some refinements for few days. Then, I will be working on the next. I know it can be done but I have not been that focused these days. Hope, I will be able to send two chapters to my sups on time.
Hi Determined_daisy, how r u doing? have u got yr draft back? Working very hard to have chapter 9 done but sometimes I get stuck and feel like crying. Since I am completely rewriting/restructuring chapters I feel bad to delete all my analysis/writing part and just seeing qualitative data like skeleton makes me mad. But, I do not have choice other than listen to what sups said. Ughh...not an easy journey...
