Asistant lecturer in veterinary faculty, egypt require phd scholarship in us or uk
T

As theriogentology is a fairly specialised subject it would probably best to approach the vet schools direct.. In the UK there are vet schools in London (www.rvc.ac.uk). Glasgow (www.gla.ac.uk), Edinburgh (www.ed.ac.uk), Liverpool (www.liv.ac.uk), Bristol (www.bris.ac.uk), Cambridge (www.cam.ac.uk) and Nottingham (www.nottingham.ac.uk).

I know that the RVC has a reproduction research group headed by a Professor Claire Wathes.

Hope this helps

The members of this forum are mainly students and so no one is going to be able to offer you a PhD position.. You should approach universities direct for opportunities.

What to do?
T

I think you are doing the right thing.. A Masters isnt essential for doing a science based PhD but experience is.. It will be good to spend time working in a lab to get a taste for research and life locked in a lab lol.. What field you gonna be working in?

Was amused to see what symposium used to mean
T

The greek for drink is poto and the Romans used potare meaning to drink (or drink heavily).. hence we get potable water.. This led on to give potus meaning 'a drink or a draught' from which we get the english word 'pot' and so the Irish Poteen probably has this origin

some emergency about Biochemistry research!
T

I think you will struggle to get hold of that.. What on earth do you need it for? Its not a commonly used drug anymore because of its negative effects on the body.

Crocs shoes - has the world gone mad?

Want to do a PhD but haven't published/done any major research yet?
T

I hadn't done any major research either, just my BSc dissertation.. one of the purposes of a PhD is to learn about doing research and increase your skills.. so you can put down that one of the reseasons you want to do a PhD is to gain the skills and experience to enter the world of research.

ADVICE FOR 1st YEAR PhD Student in California
T

lol good to see where your priorities lie

Technically you can hook with whoever you like.. just depends if you can deal with the potential awkwardness of the 'i've seen you naked' moments... Universities are big places so I am sure there will be lots of opportunities to hook up with people if thats the main thing you are after.. Also doing a PhD doesn't mean you have to completely cut yourself off from the outside world so there are pubs and clubs.

i did it
T

Don't worry too much.. I was working for 2 years before coming back to uni to do a phd.. I just read round the subject and made sure I was still familiar with the basics
