Mine is on poultry science. I would imagine there will be people from my industrial partner there so i'll have to be on my best behaviour!

I am off to my first conference next week aswell.. Looking forward to it.. I was wondering what I should wear too.. Any excuse to buy new clothes hehe.

The animal farm thing was interesting and I can see lots of possibilities for the technology but I would be afraid of it being misused.

I didn't like the featherless chickens and from a practical view point I don't think they are a realistic venture.. I can see the chickens ending up with alot of skin damage and abrasions as they dont have the feathers protecting them. This would lead to health issues and processing problems.

In my experience mice do have a certain odour about them, they tend to scent mark using urine.

I have a few days either side of the weekend off, but my first year report is due at the end of april so i'll have to work for most of it.. My folks are heading down to the coast nearby to visit.. My little 9 yr old sister wants to come and stay for a night at my house so she can spend a night with "university students".. I don't think i'll be taking her to the pub!

At the end of the day how difficult is it to run a few pages off on the photocopier then you can scribble away as much as you want.

Its an awful thing to do.. It wouldn't enter my head to deface one of my own books like that let alone a library book. I think people who do that should be forced to pay something for the damage.

The Royal Vet College is the London vet school its where I did my undergrad.. They do a good MSc in Veterinary Epidemiology (both an in-house and a distance learning version). As for PhD's there I have a feeling that the application deadline has passed, I believe it was early March.

There are 7 universities in the UK that offer veterinary medicine as an undergrad course they are london, cambridge, bristol, liverpool, glasgow, edinburgh and nottingham (this only openned this year and so not as well established at the other vet schools). As for post-graduate degrees in veterinary science; there are many univeristies other than the above vet schools that research into aspects of animal health and disease so there are too many to list so scouting through phd studentships and such like would point in the direction of research areas of other unis. Erm.. well i have no problem with it.. My love life has not been affected by my PhD lol. Lots of the PhD students I know have boyfriends or girlfriends
