ONe of the things that showed me I was getting older was when I hit 25 and had to start ticking the 25-35 age box on questionaires etc.

PLus this weekend, I was up at my folks and i went xmas shopping with my mum, and we were in next and she said rather loudly 'Ooo you have a really long grey hair there' then went and started trying to pull it out lol..

I have had a similar thing Banus, I have to get a load of samples collected before xmas and then process them in January and have data to present in February.

I would date an undergrad if I really liked them.. Like the other guys say it's legal and so not a problem

I don't generally work at the weekends.. I sometimes might read the odd paper in the evenings during the week (sometimes its a good way to send me to sleep hehe)

I think alot of the time people take the mick and come out with stupid comments because they don't understand firstly what you are doing and secondly what motivates you to go back into academia for another 3-4 years.

If you are feeling really grotty then make sure you have lots of water and get lots of vitamin C that should help along with a good nights sleep.

Choclate will perk you up but with the sugar high you get a sugar low which will result in you feeling more crappy probably

Ah that could be it H.. I went au naturel so that could have been a put off lol

I tried a boob tube and a short tight black skirt once... but it didnt go down too well.. Not sure why

I have just seen this thread.. I am doing a PhD in microbiology and my supervisor is Asian, and the institute where I am doing my research is teeming with various nationalities. When I was doing my undergrad degree (in London) I had 2 asian lecturers, 1 black lecturer and there were various other nationalities.. Obviously I don't know if they have come up against racism, but the world of science doesnt seem to be affected by nationality/race/creed from what I have seen of it.
