I'd say what you're thinking of is fine sneaks. Definitely polish your shoes and make sure your hems are ok, otherwise you'll look a bit tatty. And I've heard bravissimo are brilliant for proper fitting shirts, my mate actually flies to london to stock up every few months. Only make sure you aren't rushing around before the interview, sweaty marks are super visible with shirts!!
Good luck!! (up)
I'd tuck the shirt in btw, it looks more professional, wear a light patterned scarf if you want to hide any lumps or bumps!!
lol, no no it's not me!! I've still got 2 months!! It was a guy in my office, his external told him to get a P value at his viva, but whatever he ended up doing it's done now!! :) But I look forward to seeing that message again in a few months for me!! :D
I tried that sneaks, but it's not working properly, because I only have one value for each month, it's not working. But it was ages ago anyway now, the thesis is submitted and sorted! But thanks for the help everyone!
awww Sue!! Just focus on one thing at a time when you are doing it. When you are taking care of your dog, don't let yourself worry about the time away from writing, just think how you'd feel if you didn't spend time with her. I really hope everything is ok, your poor wee dog. I'll be thinking good thoughts. Can you give yourself one day off, it sounds like you need a break before you crack altogether? As for the job, don't get too caught up in hating it, it will just suck too much of your dwindling energy reserves, think of it like waxing your legs or going to the dentist or something. It has to be done, you just have to get in and get out a few days a week and don't even think of it outside of that, concentrate on your thesis.
Montezuma, glad you had a break, it's hard trying to get into work and keep the stress at bay! I think I'm literally just treading water at the moment! My dad knows I don't mean to be snappy or anything, my parents are honestly a massive help so I'm really lucky there. Good luck trying to find some middle ground witht he job/thesis though, could be difficult keeping your supervisor on side! I got a snide comment from my nice sup yesterday, I'm refusing to take it to heart, it's just cos he had a bad day but still, sometimes it's not a nice feeling trying to keep your sups happy!! We just have to keep on going, and before we know it we'll be free!!
Hi thanks for that Ariba, I knew that myself, but a friend had his viva and was told by his external to get a P value for the data. I though I must have had it wrong so I posted on here but turns out the examiner didn't have a notion of stats! :)
hmmm, well maybe a good snap is what's needed then, a few tears, and if you let her see just how much it's bothering you she may stop. As much as you have to let her be herself and act how she is, she has to respect how you are, and deal with that too. Plus, the added stress isn't what you need from a friendship, that's supposed to be where you get support from. Or maybe I'm just in my 'I-have-no-patience' mode...
Oh God, that is really grim than Sue....good luck with it.
I am officially turning into the grumpiest person ever, a right oul snappy nag. It's awful! I've moved home, and my poor dad is doing his best scanning stuff for me in case I lose some notebooks in transit when I move overseas, and all I can do is get annoyed that he's not figuring out how to save stuff quickly enough! He's pretty slow with the computer at the best of times, and it is irritating when you have to repeatedly say stuff over and over, but bless him, he's doing me a big favour! And I'm just getting narky :( I can't stop myself! I have warned everyone I know that I'm going to be like this, and apologised in advance, but still it's not nice! Best get stuck in I suppose and get it over with as soon as possible so I can go back to being a normal person before everyone I know hates me! :$
Hi Eska, I hate having this kind of situation with friends. Why don't you just try telling her, thanks for the advice, you know she means well but it's really just not helping, and you need a friend to be supportive for you, even if she thinks you are wrong in not taking her advice. Just tell her that you value her opinion, but it's not what you need right now and to just let things be? Being a friend in that sense is just as important as being a friend by giving advice. Prob best to be upfront so you avoid a huge row maybe...
morning all
I did yesterdays chapter, just one or two more thing to add when i get to the office later. This morning I'm doing a different chapter and battling Excel in the process. Joy.
ugh, I'm doing corrections for one of my chapters today, can't believe it's already past 4 and I'm not done yet...I hate corrections. Goal is to finish in the next hour.

You have to set up an online account through the Mendeley website, the software you download is the Mendeley Desktop software so it organises everything on your hard drive. With the account online if you enable file syncing in Mendeley Desktop then the file will be available to open from Mendeley Web and depending on your browser, may be visible directly in the browser when you click the download link. In Mendeley Desktop, just go to file, synchronise library and enter your login details and you can see all your files on the new computer then. Hope that helps :)
Good woman Jepsonclough, I hope it all works well for you! I love it! There are still some minor mistakes and you need to double check refs once you've put them in, but I still think it's the best I've used yet. I've no idea about Zotero though RubyW, maybe someone else has used it?
Absolutely super fantastic news Chris!! I'm so so chuffed for you, I knew you'd do it!! Really, you're an inspiration to me and everyone else here that through the best and worst of times you can get there. I hope you have a good long break before your viva, you blimming well deserve it, and make sure you do things to enjoy yourself!!

Endnote - schmendnote!!!
What you want is a bit of Mendeley action folks!! It's free software, available for download on the web, so no piracy issues, it has an online account so you can install it on several comouters and have access to your papers anywere, and it's simply fantastic. It extracts all the info from papers so you just drag and drop pdf's into the account and it saves it, it has a facility to allow gropus so other people in your dept who have Mendeley can share papers through the same folder and it's so user friendly! I'm in final year and just gutted that I didn't know about it sooner!
** HUGS *** from me too Chris!
Good luck for today, I give you permission to hug the first person you see after you submit!!
