Starters: succulent prawns and tender chicken pieces marinated in garlic, lemon juice and chillies, grilled to perfection; soft fish filletted into bite sized morsels in a tandoor coating and slow tandoored; cheese fritters made with home made cheese and a lavish Raita made with exotic spices whisked into a creamy yogurt

Mains: Kashmiri pulao made with rice soaked in saffron and milk, strewn with the choiciest of nuts and raisins (with a non nutty alternative for all nut dishes), giving the rice a pale orange tint marked with bits of brown and white. This goes with lamb rezala- tender lamb slow cooked on a wooden stove with the best of soothing herbs and cream. The vegetarian option for this palak paneer - made with rocitta and fresh spinach in a cream sauce. Fluffy soft white naans are being baked fresh in the wooden stoves by the lake...

Dessert: Ras-malai, a dessert made of cheese in sugar, saffron, cardamom, cinnamon and cream or vermicelli prepared in thick milk, rose water and a cooling Kulfi made with fresh milk and cream

I think if you fail your PhD, they'll always be a job in the Marks and Spencer ad department for you. Best adjective used - choiciest.

Oh dear, Bug. You've lost the musical cushions game and you know what that means...thems the rules!

P

oh well Wally, I'm in the pool... who's next? (after I get out!)

And Slizor, I fully agree and was chuckling to myself when writing those (more Sainbury like dont you think?) although I do assure you, I shall not fail my PhD.

:-)

in the head and shoulders interview: oooowwwnoooowww, I don't know if I can take any more of this, she's tryimg to convert us all to nudism via the hot tub and musical cushions; if anyone else gets their kit off I'm leaving. The butlers have gone home and it's earily quiet around here..

W

Yes it is very quiet. I was having a nose around PhDbug's mansion. Blimey, her library is enormous! I've also noticed that there are post-it notes stuck to nearly everything, with reminders to write and publish articles. I thought I'd borrow her house phone to ring for a taxi but it has no numbers on it - just direct lines to journal publishers and universities. PhDBug is a scholar - make no bones about that. My brain hurts from the cerebral stimulation, in fact! I'm going to give PhDBug an 8/10, I think. The food was nice, but the butlers looked a bit weary from all the hard work that Bug makes them do. Also Sneaks ruined it a bit for me again, after cruelly pushing me in Bug's lake and cackling like a witch.

Phew, I've finally left and am in one of the rickshaws laid on by Bug, and a butler is peddling away like crazy to get me out of the grounds of her mansion asap. I offered him a large tip if he'd spill the beans and sure enough, Bug did not cook, she just wrote the fancy wording on the menu. So,the food was fab, but cooked by another's hand, I feel quite shaken up by the nudist experience, and am not keen on the servant situation. So, it's a 5 out of ten from me, unless Bug offers to write me a book chapter and mark 100 essays, then I'll bump it up to 7.

7 out of 10. The hot tub made me feel exposed :$

8/10 love curry.

Now this thread is making me far too hungary and I'm too lazy and hungover to go and get food :-(

You guys are so sweet! :-) Wally, I loved your post, and Eska the rickshaw image made me laugh so much! Sneaks, did you get in the tub nude?

Thanks for the score and thanks cat and wal for the 80%... :-) so I get 5 from Eska, 8 each from Cat and Wall and 7 from sneaks which is 28!

Who next? Veggie feast from Cat? (if there's fruits an nuts and seeds and salad I shan't come!)

no not nude, but I've never liked being seen in a bikini or anything - throw me a slanket!

My Go!

My House is a small 3 bed semi. The plumbers just been so its a bit messy I’m afraid. My main entertainment is the naked man I hired – you have to eat the canapés off his chest! – he did wax

I am having a cheese based dinner party cos I lOVE cheese! :-x

Canapaes: Garlic and cheese filled mushrooms
Starter: Baked Camembert with Herby Potatoes
Main: Three cheese stuffed organic chicken breast wrapped in Parma
Pudding: Black cherry cheese cake

I’m tee total, so no wine for me. But I have made an alcoholic punch for you – guess what’s in it!

double post...

P

Sneaks the naked man did wax but unfortunately didn't take a shower for days so, uhhm, sorry but I have to skip the canapes... and what's canapes without the alchohol? The punch looks weird because it looks a bit like potion..

The chicken is excellent and your house very cosy! I am giving you extra points for no veggies!

Burp. I'll go for seconds when Eska, Wally and the others are there... till then you're on course for a 10 on 10 unless something is discovered in the punch, the contents of which I am now going to investigate...

C

Goes to investigate punch.....mmm not sure what's in it but tastes nice. So long as it doesn't have washing up liquid in we'll be fine (someone genuinely added washing up liquid to the punch at an undergraduate party and we all drank it unknowingly!)

Not sure about menu, there's no veggie option for the main. Plus not a fan of mushrooms or camenbert. May only be able to eat dessrt........and have some more of the lovely punch...........tastes of elderflower, and champagne with a hint of strawberry.

If you would like a veggie option, I can easily make one.....

out of meat.
