two for joy? [baked in a postgraduate pie]

S

I was personally into Fusion Rhymes. You weld together 2 different nursery rhymes to get a new one. My own creation was:

Hey diddle
The cat did a piddle
all over the kitchen floor
Along came a spider
and sat down beside her
so the cat did a little bit more.

P

Tee hee, sylvester.

C

Surely a run over chicken would be flat though!? I suppose it would make a good chicken soup...

lol to the fusion poetry!

J

My brother had a version of that, Sylvester;

Hey diddle diddle
The cat did a piddle
All over the kitchen floor
The little dog laughed to see such fun
So the cat did a little bit more

I thought he made it up (mind you he also told me he invented the knock knock joke).

T

The squashed chicken and the fusion nursery rhyme reminded me of something too.

Postman Pat, Postman Pat,
Postman Pat ran over his cat.
Just as day was dawning, Postman Pat was mourning,
Oh you've never seen a cat as flat as that.

It won't make any sense if you come from a country that doesn't have Postman Pat (or if you're too young!)

S

i like those fusion rhymes... however, would still be interested in seeing the original. anybody?
thanks in advance!

To be honest, I couldn't remember the original, but according to Google it is:

Hey diddle diddle,
the cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon,
The little dog laughed to see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.

I think the alternatives are better!
