Leeds or UCL?

G

It's volume 83, issue 9, pages 907-918 (September 2005, "A home built lock-in amplifier for laser frequency stabilization" Sowka, Weel, Cauchi et al)

G

Home built ?! Wow, sounds kinda cool !

G

I cant seem to get access to it, however, I can look into it further. I am visiting the campus today. In the meantime, I know you are in desperate need of it, contact the author. (I have done that in my case and got an article that way).

G

they cost a good few thousand to buy, so I'm going to solder one (maybe two) myself - parts will probably be about ~£150. Of course, it won't be as good as a commercial one but it's fine for what I need.

G

hahha, I GOT! It is freely available on a Canadian website:

G

...never mind...sorry false alarm. I cant even access it. It clearly states free access.

Leeds is fantastic as a city, my sister is studying there and is in love with the place. Here is an excerpt from a property developing magazine (!) that sums it up pretty well: actually I have to do it in another post because of maximum word counts... to follow shortly...

Leeds is fantastic as a city, my sister is studying there and is in love with the place. Here is an excerpt from a property developing magazine (!) that sums it up pretty well:

'Leeds ... live it love it'

This new motto for Leeds really evokes the pride and passion people have about the city, its buzz and vitality. Everyone from residents, visitors, students, commuters and business people say the same:'Try Leeds and you'll love it'.Leeds is increasingly recognised for business, culture, shopping, education and nightlife. It has recently been voted 'Britain's Best City for Business', 'Visitor City of the Year' and the UK's 'Best University Destination' There are more student applications to Leeds university than any other in the UK.

...Leeds was also voted 'Best Place to Live', 'Best City For Business', even 'Britain's Sexiest City'. Leeds really is an exciting, vibrant place

G

But Leeds is... well.. northern isn't it ?

G

Northern yes, but I am also coming from Canada, home of ice and snow. Since a high number of people are applying there, I am safe to assume that a wee international/commonwealth student like myself will be on the bottom of that list.

G

Maple Leaf, i think you misunderstand. Don't you know we have a north/south divide here ? Agh, us poncy southerners have never had it so good :D

G

Nowt wrong with t' north! I can still get a pint for <£2 here in Manc. Leeds may be t'wrong side of t'pennines but i'd choose it over London anytime. ps Maple Leaf, Indian restaurants in the north are good for veggie food.

G

ooooh, I love Indian food. Its lunch time in Canada now and that is what I am munching on. You guys are awesome, thanks for all the input :)

G

Most indian restaurants are rubbish and the rest are not even indian.

G

Hey DanB you're at Nottingham too? I tried 'V1' last week (a veggie restaurant opposite subway down the road from virgin megastores). Food was good put portions weren't! My absolute favourite restaurant is China One in Nottingham.. and they'll do a veggie version of anything you want.
