Make up questions (for us girls), need answer please

hi!!! I bought a max factor mascara :-) I'm very happy with it! It feels very light.
I havent used bio oil before, is it greasy afterwards?
I was also looking at foundation (Lancome); but I didnt try it. Whats everyone using?

bio oil is a bit greasy, bit like baby oil - best to put it on in the evening and then wash it off in the morning. I haven't ordered my bobbi brown stuff yet so using mabelline dream mousse or something like that for foundation, its really good and I went out and bought a mascara today as I seem to go through them once a month! my lashes must be twice the length of most peoples so I reckon I go through mascar at twice the speed. get a heated eyelash curler!

I thoroughly recommend the palmers coco butter body butter stuff mmmmmmm it smells sooo good. I wish I could have it on toast! (altho would probably taste disgusting).

If you're worried about getting the body lotion on the bra, start with those areas first, and by the time you have finished applying it on your arms, legs, etc, it should be dry. If not, what I tend to do is put some comfortable (cotton) clothes on straight away (like PJ's - clothes that I won't wear outside), and it will either dry underneath the clothes or absorb better into the skin. You can then potter about putting make-up on, deciding what to wear, sorting out bag, etc, while it dries. Either way, you won't have to stand around naked getting cold. Or better still, put it on before bed.

hi again!!! I forgot to tell you also, yesterday I bought Vaseline lip balm. It cost less than £1 :-)
I applied lightly on my lips before going to bed and now my lips are not cracky in the morning!!! its really good.
Somehow lip balm doesnt feel as greasy as gloss.
I'm also going out today, will be looking at foundation :-)

yea lip gloss can be really sticky and not really good for moisturising lips, it just annoys me! I got the Blistex lip massage balm, it's great and v tasty! altho the boyf isn't too keen, but then he never likes anything like that really! :-) as for the Bio oil, it can be a bi greasy, but i only ever use a little bit and spend ages rubbing it in so it doesn't sit on the skin...plus someone also told me that rubbing and kneading ur soft bits is really good to break up the fat cells underneath so they don;t accumulate as much...not sure if it really works but I like it! :-)

Algaequeen!!!! guess what I bought one Blistex today :-)
it wil be the lip balm to put in my uni bag.
And the other one I bought before that, I will keep that at home :-)
I also got some lavender bath oil, its supposed to be good for the skin, I'm going to try it

I suppose I'll add my tupence worth :-)

I completely agree that you should buy a few good quality items rather than the cheap stuff. It's better for your skin longterm too. Especially for foundation and lipstick.

Remember that makeup does go off, only lasting about 6months- 18months. You can get the most out of it by always using a clean brush (not your finger or direct onto skin/lips) as this minimises the amount of contact with bacteria etc. If you notice your skin getting bad think about how old your makeup is. Eyeshadows usually last longer, for pencils just pare them regularly.

Aloe vera is a miracle cure for skin. It helps damaged, sore, itchy, scarred or sagging skin.

Vaseline for lips comes everywhere with me!

What I use:
Mac for concealer& foundation even though it's a little dark for my ghostly pale skin, as I'm allergic to everything else.
I dust the foundation powder over my eyes so I can wear my favourite bourgeois eyeshadows, also have a few mac ones.
Rimmel mascara or no7.
clarins lipstick/lipsheen.

Rarely do all of the above, usually just a touch of concealer where necessary if I'm at the uni, nothing most days around home. Powder, blusher and mascara if going out. I save the fancy stuff for major events, like the Christmas party.

I did go to the Mac counter; their foundation shades are more towards orange-shades. I also went to look at Clinique shades, which looked less orange but I still couldn't make up my mind. I'm going to look again this saturday.

Dunno if you still want make up tips.

The body shop do good make up. I swear by their liquid eye liner and all-in-one facebase (foundation and powder). As for mascara it took years of buying different ones for me to find my perfect one - benefit bad gal marcara. My problem is clumping and this is one mascara where that never happens.

S

yes thank you so much make-up tips always always welcome.
I know this sound silly; I always thought body shop make up was also natural products and natural tends to smear.
I am shopping again on saturday, I will pop in and have another look.
The Max Factor mascara I bought, is ok. its doesn't really lengthen my already-short lashes, not like the Lancome one I have makes my lashes look thicker, but Max factor is light and not clumpy, so I guess its ok for me.

thanks a lot for any other make up tip you may have.
