The One Goal Thread

S

My first goal is done and I now have a draft proposal. (up) It still needs a lot of work but I have made major progress from feelings of doom as I was convinced I wouldn't be able to get it done.

My next goal is to get a chunk of analysis done.

S

Morning everyone. I'm getting a little bit of work done this morning before relaxing for the weekend. My first goal is to spend an hour filling out and redrafting my research proposal. I hate doing anything stressful at the weekend but here goes...

Things aren't going well at the mo, but hopefully going to try and make a dent in some work today.

Goal 1: run analysis

Goal 1 done.

Goal 2= pack for the week away (no holiday :-( )

S

Are you going away for a conference Sneaks?

My first goal today is to work on analysis until 9.55 when I have to go upstairs for a meeting.

S

Argh I have so much to do today. First goal- prepare transcripts and email them to my supervisor ready for meeting tomorrow.

no, my hubby is peed off with the dark - waking up in the dark, coming home in the dark, so we're staying in london for a week to give him some rest from it all = we can get up later.

I don't seem to have done PhD work for ages, so my first goal is to look through my analysis :-)

S

My first goal is done. My second goal is to make sure my CV and application form for a postdoc fellowship are Okish and to print them off ready for a meeting with a careers advisor this afternoon.

S

My second goal is done.

Next up I need to rewrite the one page summary of my thesis which I wrote last week, which will be part of my application pack.

S

My third goal is *almost* done and I don't have any more time left this morning. This afternoon I will:

Attend meeting with research group.
Attend meeting with careers advisor.
Sort out teaching contract and expenses.

Lots to do.

I feel so stuck with my work at the moment. I'm trying to structure a chapter introduction so that the hypotheses are nice and clear and the order flows well, but really I have no idea what I'm doing :-(

S

I think its quite normal to feel like you don't know what you're doing. I feel like this a lot. You just have to plod on with things and they always wok out in the end.

My various meetings and bits of admin are now done. I now have 45 minutes to do the last changes to my thesis summary and research proposal before leaving for spin class.

still don't know what I'm doing. But I MUST sort this out today - I think its something that has the potential to drag on for weeks stopping me doing anything else!

S

Good luck Sneaks! My first goal is to get my application pack together for postdoc and to email it to my supervisors for feedback/to help them write references.

S

My first goal is done (why does everything take me so long? If I let applying for jobs take up this much of my time I'll never get my PhD written!).

My goal for the rest of the day is to rewrite the analysis which I have been working on over the last week. This will be interrupted by supervision this afternoon but I want to have it done by the end of the day.
