I have now rewritten and am more or less happy with the first half of my introduction. I am now going to go to the gym and when I get back start redraft one analysis section.
Sounds like everyone is on a roll today! :)
I had a day full of meetings and admin stuff yesterday so got nothing done that I needed to. So today I need to clean my house which has been neglected recently due to work stress and get on with editing my methodology chapter. Feeling very unproductive today for some reason so hoping I get into the swing of it soon!
Have a good day all!
woop - I've just submitted my article :-)
Next step - I have to produce a 1 page summary of my PhD for a potential external examiner :-( I've been putting it off for about 2 weeks now, so have to get one with it!
Ooh, congrats, Sneaks!
I've written and printed my Participant Information Sheet and Informed Consent form for Monday's interview, and am now finalising the interview schedule. Feeling productive today, on a roll, hope it continues!
Done the 1 page (well its 2 pages) overview for external. - getting butterflies already and haven't even written the thesis!
Next Goal (although I'm sure I'll be called for lunch in a mo) is to do the work I'm actually supposed to be doing today i.e. non-PhD work!
Congratulations Sneaks for getting your article submitted :)
Read through two research method chapters, and have started my own, written 500 words for it so far. Going to try and get at least another 500 before going over to Ikea to pick up some bedroom furniture (yay!)

thanks guys! Its been rejected before from top top top level journals (x2) but for silly reasons - once cos of something my sup put in (she said the findings found that xyz - when they didn't! but she wouldn't let me take it out) and the second cos of the sample size (which is unavoidable and I've not justified it a lot more strongly)
So fingers crossed!
Well done submitting your article Sneaks. It always feels good to officially cross a task off the list!
I have now edited one analysis section. I'm getting bored of this chapter now so I am going to move onto my presentation. Shame that the presentation is based on the chapter! I suspect there will be a lot of copying and pasting so I am going to try and get the whole thing drafted out today.
Well done all, and Sneaks for submitting.
I have just inputted 1,500 words into my methodology chapter which feels good. It's a whistlestop tour of other disciplines which used a similar framework to me. Supervisor suggestion (and an innovative one) but difficult. Have you ever tried skim reading PhD theses in other disciplines and then summarising in a few bullet points each?? Not for the faint-hearted but I did it in two days!!!
This is my show my face at uni day so my evening goal is not to drop off at seminar I am expected to attend. That may be harder than skim reading those PhDs!!
Wow Ady you skimmed the theses and wrote 1500 words on them in 2 days? That sounds like a lot of work!
I have now drafted out half of my presentation and have ground to a halt. I still have a chapter left to read in an interlibrary loan which is due back tomorrow so I am going to read that and then probably call it a day.
That does sound like a lot of work Ady - very impressed! How you haven't fallen over with exhaustion yet....
I've been working hard all day and don't feel like I've achieved much, even though I know I have really. I've prepared paperwork and most of my interview schedule for interviewing a participant on Monday, apart from a couple of points that rely on me getting development of my questionnaire finalised. And the finalisation of the questionnaire relies on some information I hope to get from Monday's interview. Hmm, feeling a bit of an impossible circle there! I think I need to stop trying to make everything perfect and accept that I don't yet have the information to make things as final as I'd like!
