Hi Sneaks, it's just a national conference - so probably not too big - it's the first one I've even attended though.

Emaa, glad you're feeling better.

You'll be fine! your presentation will be over in minutes and then its free (ish) food and wine! If you are like me you will be extrememly bored by the subject area and the cheesy networking and having to feign interest in your PhD, but maybe that's just me!

I'm sure you will be just fine with your presentation Ev!

I managed my writing goal for today. Also read a couple of journal articles which helped clarify some things. The stuff I am writing is starting to shape up into something and I'm feeling good about the stuff I am learning in the process, so all in all a good day. (up)

I'm still editing.. then i need to go back to a section to decide where to put it (i.e listen to sup no. 1 or sup no.2) mmm

well I won't get my final goal finished - sup wants me to do another thing for a non-PhD project, but as there may be publication possibilities I'm going to sit and do it tonight.

I've spent all morning finishing off the non-phd work for sup. Its quite exciting as is extremely confidential and very relevant to current events. But it now has been entirely deleted from my system to keep all the data secure.

I now am quite sleepy because I've just had a cup of tea and 2 iced buns :$ I would like to sit on the sofa under my duvet and watchi Glee on sky+ but alas I have a deadline so...

Goal 1: do one analysis - try by lunchtime.

I spent the last two hours trying to book airline tickets for my parents in law and their daughter to come to visit us. at the first the bank card did not work then it did. then I called my evil mother in law, and as usual she said something makes my crazy. I do not know how I'll bear their stay in my home for two month :-s:-s

I will try to finish the goal 2

oooh sneaks, the work you were doing this morning sounds exciting!

I spent the morning at a course 'How to write up your PhD thesis'.

My goal for the afternoon is to go to the library and hunt down and read 3 articles which I can't get online.

oh my golly gosh sneaks, I really want to know what you were working on this morning! That's so unfair to tease us like that! :-) Glad you got to do something exciting though!
I've already got some little things sorted for today but my main goal is to finish some map work I'm doing and get it on powerpoint...could take ages! here goes!

aw the topic is exciting but the work was actually really dull :-s

I've got to put a presentation together for my yearly review. i usually use my uni's slide template, but as its at uni, and we all know where we go to uni - anyone got a good template recommendation. I prefer black font on white background. i.e. no blue backgrounds etc.

Still haven't done any work though - feeling sluggish.
