well done everyone!
I've done my 3rd analysis (16/40 done). I've also planned out my methodology chapter - I'm going to try and write a section for it each day, so hopefully in a months time it will be done.
I'm going to read through sups changes to my paper tonight!
Well done Sneaks and Button on completing so many goals!! And everyone else too (up)
I have had another absolutely rubbish day yet again - despite making it into the office and having some mildly positive news I have managd to do nothing constructive at all. My head is spinning and I'm really starting to doubt if it possible for me to do a PhD at all ...
Oh, don't say that, Ev! I hope a fresh day has made things seem a bit more positive - we all have days where we feel like we just can't do it, but I'm sure you can really.
My big goal for today: get my draft literature review finished and emailed to my supervisors before 5pm. That breaks down into writing an intro and conclusion, going back to all the awkward bits I skipped while I was writing it, editing the whole thing and getting RefWorks to produce my reference list. Yikes, I'd better get back to it!
mornin' all.
I've worked out that to get all 40 analyses done I need to do 4 a day for 6 days. So that's my plan today. I also need to read through the paper my sup sent back to me, AND I really would like to start on my methods chapter AND write a CV! But I feel I am falling into my old ways of too many goals, so I'm going to br br br break it down (scratches record)
Goal 1: 2 analyses before lunchtime
morning folks!
I nearly got yesterdays goal down, as I only freaked out a little bit, but I think that was mainly due to diverting stress from work to other stuff, but feeling better today! Actually feeling really glad to be back in work today, it was making me feel really guilty being away so off to a good start! First goal today, to get the next section of my methods chapter done. It's a stinker too.
And EV, don'torry about feeling overwhelmed by the PhD process, I think there are a few people who feel like even right up until submission, it's just scary having all that ahead of you. Just try and work on breaking things down into what you need to do each year, then each term, then each month then each week, and once you've got that done, forget about everything else that needs done and concentrate only on what you need to do that week or that day. Otherwise you'll drive yourself crazy.

ah, we have just got a dishwasher, never had one before and its AMAZING, although I am very scared about the forthcoming electricity bill!
Done 1 analyis! Woop Woop (that's 1/4 for today and 17/40 in total)
Hi all,
Hope everyone is working productively. Today my goal is to get 7 pieces of transcription done, as well as have a couple of run throughs of a presentation I'm doing on Thursday.
woo 2/4 done, that's 18/40 in total. I'm going to start the 3rd one now, because I find that after lunch I tend to get a bit of a slump and get all sleepy.
Go Sneaks! And good stuff Amanda!
I have done goals 1 and 2, in actual fact instead of writing 500 words I've managed to whack out 1000 words so far! Not bad considering I haven't written anything for so long. Although I must admit this is the easy bit!
Goal 3- finish context
Goal 4- do rationale and work out whether I need to rearrange the order
I want to do those before lunchtime (I always have a late lunch) as like you Sneaks, I go a bit sleepy after lunch!
Good luck everyone!
