it would appear my supervisor thinks i should be back at work on boxing day and said im lazy for wanting to be off until the friday! he was most astounded i was having any time off at all!

That sup sounds like a jerk. You should take Boxing Day off.

Everyone at my place is starting to wind down this week and then only plan to return the monday following new year (7th) sounds like your sup is way off!

Hello everyone! As I am going to be abroad for a while (Christmas break + research) I just wanted to wish you all the very best for Christmas and an even better 2008,full of good research hunting!
I would also like to thank all the people here that bothered to reply to my tantrums and provided suggestions and support. Thank you very much indeed.

Have a very lovely christmas too. I escape my desk on friday (21st), I think it is half day, to be back on the 2nd. My plans to go see my family abroad didn't work out so i'll spend it with relatives close by.
