I am in the process of designing a questionnaire that should help me investigate some of the questions I have come up with. However, having obviously read the literature I am not sure if this work is actually contributing to the current arguements on the topic (Im finding this difficult to explain!). It is following up and continuing a trail of thought that was expressed by one author a few years ago and has since not been touch (I hear you grasp). I feel that my slant on this idea will make it more apealing. Do I sound (barking mad!!! lol) like it is something that should be investigated or given up to pursue the other topic (and follow like all the other sheep!!)

Just to reiterate Wickid what everyone else has said about time being the best healer and removing things that remind you of him I found that a diary helped me. Wrote all my feelings down after a relationship broke down and occasionally looked back at how I was feeling at that time. If you monitor your emotional progress, I think it will help get you through this quicker. Plus one last thing, stay away from 'love' albums and rom com films etc, they dont do you any good.

I think I have just come up with my research question. I have always known what area I would be researching but as yet have not decided on the direction to take. Today it dawned on me and a number of things have slipped into place. Am I being a little naive or is this the way many of you have felt when you stumble upon somenthing unique (well i feel it is anyway?

Great question. Interesting response from H as I often pose this question down the pub and it is not uncommon for people to be some what indecisive about thier favourite film. Also, you are supposedly able to predict ones character from their favourite films (but dont judge me on these please!):

Back in high school we found the longest word possible which was ca. 35 letters and refered to some lung complaint/disease. I forget the word now (like many things from high school) but would be interested if anyone else knew of the word.

Mia, you may remember I had a report to hand in a week or so ago. I have had feedback from both supervisors and they were pretty positive in their commnets so I was over the moon. Just need to concentrate on an area now as I have not developed a research question as yet. Hope your research going ok.

I agree with Mia (not for the first time). I think a bit of music is good for reading but writing demands silence. How does everyone feel about the type of music. Any particular genre that makes you work better? Does the radio work for you with intermittent chat? Level of music on headphones- just enough to drown the background noise or fairly loud?

What environment do you work in? Complete silence or headphones and music? I thought I would purchase headphones to stop interuptions as I share a large office but I have found I am listening to music but still seem to absorb my reading. What do you like and what are your thoughts of the other tactic?

If I didnt have any doubts then I would think there was something wrong. In my opinion, over confidence is a luxury that I can not afford because it doesn't fit with my personality. The point about there being many people capable I agree but that misses the point. I was testing the water to check if others felt the same. Lastly, I do not think I am wasting my time. I am enjoying the challenge and as long as I continue to feel that way then I will pursue my dream.
