Buy the new england shirt from asda, it's only £25, which reminds me that my other half owes me the money for it! Sneaks, it's pretty much a normal footy shirt, but it's got different material at the front which makes it a bit more fitted, not skin tight though ha!

I've been pondering ideas for my PhD (I start in October straight after my MA). I was just wondering how much data you realistically collect for a qualitative PhD? I know I will be using interviews and quite a detailed analysis technique. Obviously this depends a lot on topic/subject etc, but if your PhD is mainly qualitative, how many interviews have you actually done? I'm just trying to get an idea of what is actually possible.

I'm currently doing the MA part of my ESRC 1 + 3. Any idea whether you can take an unpaid break during the studentship? I'm so drained at the moment that I don't know how I can possibly start a full-time PhD in October! Obviously there's pros and cons to doing it, but I just wondered whether it was possible?
