Hi everyone,

Been having an awful few days so I really want to achieve something today.

Goal 1- finish getting the notes out of books from library
Gaol 2- arrange notes into plan

I'm still unsure, as I'm a bit concered about Lib Dem's aim of abolishing tuition fees- where are they intending to get all of this additional uni money from? I can just imagine HE job cuts, but maybe I'm missing something.

I'm just feeling majorly panicky about the whole thing. I only need a few participants but I'm just not getting anywhere, and it's really getting me down. It doesn't help that my supervisor is piling on the pressure now!

I've sat here all day and exhausted all possible ways of getting participants. All I can do is wait. I can't concentrate on another assignment because this is worrying me so much.

Although PGF clearly doesn't reflect real life, I think it's safe to say that you have made lots of people laugh on here, and cheered many people up when they're down!

When had you collected your data by? My MA dissertation is due in Spetember this year, but I still haven't collected any data as I've been completely bogged down by assignments, and am sort of in limbo waiting for an organisation to get back to me about participants.

I'm confident that I will get participants eventually, and I am only doing 6-8 interviews, but have I left it really really late? I'm having a bit of a panic about it!

Hi Joyce,

I have used discourse analysis to look at what government reports are really getting at, and found it to be really useful. I don't think you necessarily have to use it to look at power relations, I didn't, and still found that it increased my understanding of what the reports were actually trying to say/emphasising. And I'm in social sciences (not psychology), so it definitely isn't restricted to just psychology!

I would also recommend Fairclough!

Goals 1 and 2 are done. I'm finding other things to do rather than do goal 3 though :( shower, lunch and then I might have a look at my next assignment.

Goal 1- cut down assignment

Goal 2- do references

Goal 3- start looking at next assignment :(
