I had pushed the boat out trying to stay up and finish reading a book cover to cover (I was 60 pages off)...but was too tried at 3am. So I set the alarm to wake me intending to finish by 10ish.... and ended up finishing the book this afternoon.

It seems like supervisors have different expectations of their students! A completed lit review by Christmas is very steep (without changes). That aside, by the end of the year I have to have the lit review, a chapter and a prospectus of further chapters...

I should have been more specific...'draft literature review'. But yeah, I thought it wasn't unusual to have to do a substantial draft of around 10,000 words by then?

A literature review in 3.5 days! I'm having kittens about handing mine in by Christmas! Good luck with the lit review!

The counter service at the Rylands closes at 3 on Saturdays.

Today I have indentified a 'me' shaped hole in the literature. And thought of a potential chapter heading. Oh happy halycon days!

All this whilst at my paid work: well, on saturdays this work consists of plenty of reading under the counter and tea (with a penguin...of the chocolate sort)
