The good days on which I finds reading interesting, have a great monthly supervision, write something worthwhile etc - are always balanced by days in which I feel a real sense of despair, futility and frustration at my abilites and research. I probably haven't felt so stretched before in my life - which is good - but I never expected to feel so invested in my work (in terms of time, thought, and the funding I recieve). Which can be a good and bad thing. Why else would I be writing part of a paper at 7pm?! (except the fact it is due in two days!)

Hell. A pure unmitigated hell

I'm writing up a chapter for wednesday next week - wish me luck. It is a considerable reworking (same material, different analysis) from chapter I wrote last month - it was really crappy, and this is a neccesary task. And I need to impress with this one. Wish me luck! Any tips for producing elegantly scripted, academic prose?! ;-) I want to feel proud

I wasted a vast chunk of today worrying about my chapter and doing nothing... and then, about half past three I suddenly had an idea for a case study...and it is viable. And it is so exciting! I am so looking forward to work tmrw! I will rise early, breakfast, swim, work.

I have a short presentation coming up tmw, and I am currently writing up the final narrative to follow my slide show. Any tips? Do you use a complete script or prompt notes. I feel really jittery!

I'm here for another year, but need to restructure my thesis and draw up more rigourous research questions. I'm beginning to do so - but any tips people. I feel like have lots of interesting sources and vague notions but seperating them into chapter with 'points' seems difficult..I'm finding it difficult to develop threads that follow through...

I did it! (just, an extra day needed to footnote and sort out) I have no idea about quality. I guess I'll find out in my panel meeting! Eek!

Yay! I just printed out my first year report. Phew!

I am not sure what to expect from the panel next week - but I hope I have prepared at least reasonably for it!
