Eeek! Don't be amazed! Really - it is soooo bad that I have to cram work like this. It is still a tail-back I think from when I used to work for money and did my PhD at the same time. I only left work a week or so ago so haven't had time to adjust to normal working.

This is my first year report. And I need to upgrade my literature review to. I slept last night, phew. So I will probably have to stay up all night doing it. But at least it seems achievable, just now - it didn't at 00:30 last night!

I don't think I can do this!

I have written 2,700 words so far today. And will need to write about another 4,000 words or so by the end of tomorrow. No sleep for me tonight. And then there is referencing. And then I need to update my biblio' and lit review briefly. Then print by Friday morning and put in the panels pigeonholes...Phew. I will do it. I can do it. I have to do it. We will both do it..

It is okay, even if it isn;t totally fluent it kind of communicates what I want it too...or the level of research I have done looking for sources...

Hej! Thanks for your comments - things are going okay. I plan to really blitz today: getting the words down and polishing tomorrow.

Must have a sample draft chapter written for a end of first year panel meeting next week - but obviously the panel needs to read it beforehand.

I worked in the office this morning (productive) and came home this afternoon (not)....hmmmm...I'm trying to write 6,000 words in three days and I am starting to panic! Eeeek.

Well - tis been cut. It looks a lot better - though it will be better after a wash and air dry. Hmm it was a budget cut so not bad all things considered.

I was reliably informed by a friend today that my hair now resembles a mullet. So it is time for a cut. I want hair that reaches my jawline - is this so much to ask for? Clearly - my hair stubbonly refuses to grow evenly - hence the mullet look. Off to the hairdressers...

I am writing a chapter and trying to do it in a shared office (with about 20 other PhD students). What with people millng around it is hard to concentrate and the office looks like a call centre- and I keep procrastinating. Perhaps it is better to work at home afterall?

How do you find working from home?

I know - it would require as much attention as a toddler and I just can't give it that. Or spare the stipend money to cover piles of fresh fruit and vets bills. I'll stick with the goldifsh!

Aside form the procrastinating activities (email, youtube, important cleanings tasks etc) I learn Swedish (self taught, but start classes next month), knit a scarf and gawp at animals in pet shops. If only my stipend would cover a parrot
