Just checked, I put firstly, secondly etc...not sure what is actually the correct way but it's too late for me to worry now!

It is really up to the examiners what they define as major or minor corrections. Personally, I think the viva system is very flawed, sometimes unfair, and at the very least needs to be standardized, where possible.

I read your post wrong. I was talking in relation to the viva. I didn't think people got their supervisor anything for Christmas.

Thanks, I didn't realise that students got to see the pre-viva reports after viva. Hopefully, I'll not have to ask then.

Thanks everyone. I've looked at the rules for another university and note that it is my right under law to see the reports. I'll not ask prior to viva for fear of rocking the boat (as I've been told by my university I can't see them) but hopefully I may get to see them at some point.

Very honestly, I can't see how I can prepare as I feel I know the thesis as well as I'll ever know it and reading the posts on here over the years, the rest would be down to the characteristics of the examiners and their approach which my supervisor has offered me no advice on.

Thanks all. It did surprise me as well as I thought the examiners were meant to be experts in the field. Given what's been said here I'll not worry about it. Thanks again!

My supervisor has appointed examiners who are not experts in the topic. Is this a good things or a bad thing based on your knowledge and experience.
