Writing...

I seem to have reached a crossroads. I'm not stressed by it, don't lack the motivation to do it (I want to get this over and done with), I know what I want to write but just can't get it down on paper. Any advice, tips etc?

To continue with PhD or not!!
D

I am so sorry to read that, I didn't know that could happen. I can't offer any advice as, to me, a PhD's worth can only be assessed by the individual completing it.

However, that's a horrible position you've been put in.

I hope you reach the best decision for you.

Got the job :)))

Great news, things seem to be falling into place for you, KB!

Well deserved and nice to read. :-)

Help with track changes

Thanks Corinne! It worked and I'm delighted and less stressed thanks to you. (up)

Help with track changes

I was given feedback via track changes. I made the changes on that copy and have tried to remove the tracking and although it seems to disappear, when I then copy the material and transfer it to another copy all the track changes reappear. Help!

Quote From sneaks:
I've managed to sort out a job issue with a best case scenario really, and its a problem that has been twisting up my insides for a while, so that's good.

Fantastic, I'm very happy for you, Sneaks.

Must admit Ady, once my supervisor sees a full draft I don't expect any substantial feedback in relation to the structure and would say and do exactly as you have.

Sneaks, I'm sorry, that's terrible. Did your supervisor not have at least a reasonable idea of your thesis structure? I showed my supervisor what I intended to do in advance.

I have a job interview...

Excellent news, slowmo! Wishing you all the best. Dress comfortably but dress smart. Others on here better placed to advise I would think.

Post viva- tackling thesis corrections

I can't better that advice from Bil. It has to be done and so no point in putting it off. Get it done, collect your PhD and look forward to the future!(up)

Just for fun - stupid things you read in papers.

...and read in the first paragraph! You could be like me so tired from writing that I'm much more inclined to make mistakes.

Help me please!

Friday seems to have been a good day for many on here. Excellent news, Mel!

Upgrade woes!
D

This is only my opinion but I wouldn't worry too much as they were very complimentary about what you had done (the quality seems to be there) but red tape and a need to cover their backs probably means they can't upgrade you officially until you have more data (you will get there!). Just doing things by the book most likely.
