Thanks everyone! I still have a month of leisure until I start so will be making the most of it!

I just found out I got the job! Yey!! Although now I have to mentally prepare myself for that whole 9 - 5 thing.

Does this now mean that I'm a REAL academic?

Happy Friday to you all! I had to go and speak to the people in the job centre today. It was depressing. I even had to tell the bloke who interviewed me for the dole how to spell 'bursary'. Oh well, looking forward to a fun weekend

It's still very weird, I cant believe she did it! Her husband was in the next room! And no, she's not fit at all. I'm also not remotely lesbian myself (in fact last night reaffirmed this for me.) What was she thinking of?!!

She's not one of my best friends anyway, just a friend I chat to in the local, so I'm going to just ignore her from now on. That maybe childish, but I think I would vomit otherwise

What I hate about freshers is the way they hog up all the computers in the library emailing their friends and posting on forums!! Not the sort of thing I would do of course ...

I think the postgrad team should give all new PhD students a mouse mat. And all old ones one too!

Thanks alot everyone! I find out tomorrow. I really want it, and think I would have been in with a chance but one of the interviewers didnt seem to have any interest in my proposed research topic at all. She kept on saying "I'm a cynic, just ignore me!" Helpful or what?!! Not optimistic
