What does an average postdoc start on? I thought it was about £22,000, but just trying to get funding for a postdoc and my host university has costed it at £35,000 pa to start with. I'm not complaining if they want to give me that, but I think it's way too high and I reckon the people who I'm asking for funding will laugh!

Just thought of something I hate more than dishwashers and tumble dryers - spray deodrant. I hate it, hate it, hate it.
hate it when you go into a room and you can't breathe because someones just sprayed deodrant on in the interests of 'hygiene'

I always find going out with someone who's really into technology helps. Unfortunately I havent managed to acquire a suitable IT knowledgeable boyfriend during my PhD so all my diagrams are dodgey Word ones
