I agree, my old library (Queen Mary) was like that twenty years ago- silence reigned with a rod of iron- and now you can take coffee all over, ground floor is like a creche, AND it's got it's own cafe, INSIDE the library!

Wowzer's probably right. As long as you've got proof, you could probably dump a fair bit of responsibility on the co-sup... he may well be HoD but he still has a manager himself.

Done all these, except the one about Starbucks which was closed. Which is a shame as I was looking forward to that.
Mind you, no disrespect, but a lot of people don't seem to know how to design a survey. If you open with a closed question ("Have you ever done 'X,' Yes / No") it is ridiculous to then proceed without giving a N/A option. If someone answers 'no,' they should not be forced to reply as if they had originally said 'yes.' Really p*sses me off actually!

Absolutely gutted for you El. If there's a silver lining (maybe not a very bright one at the moment!) at least you've got a few months to give 'em the best thesis they've ever seen, fully polished!

Interesting though that going by the examples given, this is relatively common in the field of sciences and not in arts/ humanities.
