Now, I am seeking your opinion on methodology. I am interested to do multiple methods of data collection, such as key informant interviews, participation observations, field notes, and focus group discussions. Now my questions are-
1. Do I need to do interview only girls ( African -American) from school to get information?
2. Who could be participants during the focus group discussions? for example- parents, teachers
3. I myself belongs to African-American, Do I need to hire some female (non- african american) interviewer to get actual information. I would be my positionality?
I hope you guys have ideas regarding on methodology.

1.it depends on what your research questionsare. If you want to explore girls' perceptions then you will interview only girls. However if youwant to compare and contrast constructions, then you will interview both boysand girls.
2.Againi think it depends onyour study and on ethics eg inmy country in order to do research in schjools you have to obtain a special permission from the ministry of education, but you need permission from theparents only if you require medical information. Keep kn mind that if there are other people present, then your partcipants may not feel free to expresstheir views.....
3.Again it depends. You can do theresearch yourself and acknowledge any issues like your gender and race in your methodology and explain how they may have affected the data.... Hiring afemale, caucasian todo the study, mayalso affect the research (what about male, non-caucasianparticipants?)
