I just wanted to say a belated thanks for this tip. I did try it on two separate occasions so I now have 3000 words to play with. I am still really struggling but something is better than nothing. I too have typos, terrible grammar and 'interesting' terms but that can all be changed.

I think Bobby is right, we need more details. E.g. if you use SPSS you can look at their help section (tons better now than it used to be). There are also text books which explain SPSSmprocedures and include output which would help also.

I realise that you may not be using SPSS but I would imagine similar principles would apply to the package you are using.

I think to a degree we have all experienced things like that so don't worry. Usually it gives me the motivation to make sure that does not happen again. As long as you learn from it then try not to take it to heart too much (easier said than done I know).

I know lots of people at my Uni seem to be running 'enter into a draw to win £50/£100' as an incentive. I am not sure it will be as effective as paying but maybe a compromise if funds are limited.

I wear smarter clothes if I am teaching. No one has ever commented on dress code but it seems to be jeans etc are ok if you are not teaching but smarter stuff is needed if you are. I do have a teaching position though so maybe would be diff I was a student only.
