The cabbages laughed "why should we be scared of you?" they asked, "you don't even know your own species!"
The cabbages tittered away, unaware that rabbit or hare.... both species were rather partial to cabbage.
A feeding frenzy ensured, with the hare tearing chunks out of every available cabbage, shredding them as though preparing for a guiness record attempt at the world's largest bubble and squeak.
Just then the Professor/new VC stepped out of his office to investigate the source of all the hullabaloo...
Before he could do or say anything, a messenger arrived with an urgent telegram (do they still do telegrams?). Irritated by the interruption he opened it. It was from the new government. Fortunately rabbits evolved long ears for more than being able to hear really well. The glancing blows raining down on the rabbit didn't hurt one bit because the rabbit's ears provided perfect cushioning protection. Now it was the rabbit's turn, but he was hungry and the cabbages were getting away.
The rabbit's main goal currently is to oust the Professor as it is his ardent desire to obtain the post of VC and deal with the PhD students as he wishes...
