Hello again,
Wow, it really feels good to get back to work.
I couldn't achieve all of my goals but I wrote my introduction section and summarized the theorizes I will adapt. Research model and hypotheses are a little messier than I initally thought. So, for tomorrow's meeting with my advisor (yes, I am 6 hours behind in the US!), I have some work to show him my good intentions, but it could have been better if I sorted all my hypotheses out and designed my experiment.
It's only midnight here. So, maybe I can do a little more in the next few hours before I go to bed.
longway74, that is great!! well done ! i am sure your supervisor will feel reassured now. sounds like you're well on your way. it's nice to hear how positive you feel about getting back to work.
i hope your meeting goes well, and please let us know how it went!
hey how are you all? Bit of a late start for me but sure. Yesterdays graduation went well and I got my aims done before hand. As a result tired and slow today! Seems to be one day productive the next recovering from it!!
Well aims for today
1. Finish notes from book that this crucial for chapter 2
2. Find other sources from lib from list
Hope everyone else is doing ok.
Lara I hope you are still feeling motivated and getting there. I think you are right just focus in and do the most you can for each part so your supervisor can see you are on top of it!
Hello everyone,
Hope you all are doing great.
The meeting with my advisor went well. He was a bit disappointed of the amount of work I gave to him; but he was happy that I am showing some progress. He also sent my rough draft back today with encouraging comments. What matters now is to NOT stop and keep working the way I did during the last couple of days. I was amazed to see how much work can be done even in such a short period. I agree with the 15 minute rule: The key is to sit and do something about the dissertation every day - even if it's just for a little while.
Lara-- everyday is not the same and will never be. You might have a relatively unproductive day but still you seem to have managed to get some work done. Not bad at all!
Hi all I didnt quite meet my aims today. But got about 5 hours of productive work done - aim 1 is just taking me longer than expected. But it is the basis text for this chapter so Im hoping when i battle through it I will be quicker through the rest as i will be just adding to it.
Had a swim tonight which was good as I feel massive now so was nice that bump got to float for a bit! To bed I go.
hey guys!! thanks for the encouraging words I appreciate that.
my pc got fixed! yeh!! plus my friend fixed my printer, so i can print now too ! yeh!!
it's nice to be back on the desktop computer.
well it's a very late start today! will be burning the midnight oil tonight.
my aims for tonight are:
1. chapter 5 introduction section
2. chapter 1 introduction
3. chapter 2 methods
4. chapter 7 discussion.
i am going to do as much as i can for the above chapters. and then tommorow work on chapter 6 my last remaining chapter.
Aim 1 completed, hurrah!
chapter 5 is all done now, complete with introduction. discussion is very sketchy though, needs alot more work. but it will do for now.
i am all wired from drinking coca cola. it pays to not be addicted to caffeine so when i do drink coke. i am all buzzed. hehe.
onwards, onto chapter 1 introduction now.
aim 2 completed, hurrah! chapter 1 introduction.
although it is very far from perfect or completed, but it's the best i can do for the monday deadline. it needs critical analysis of the literture. and has missing sections. but at least it's *something* about 8,000 words. although the final version i am going to chop and change it drastically. it'll do for now.
