also i think i was suffereing from ambivalence, for those that have the book: page 86.
Joan Bolker writes:
"it is absolutely possible to want very much to write your dissertation and also to want very much not to, and if the forces are just about equal, you will end up in the seasaw position with a lot of tension and no motion".
"most of us are ambivalent about the important ...events in our lives: getting married, having children, being in love or taking the sort of major leap forward professionally that earning a doctorate constinutes. You can't banish mixed feelings by denying them....."

Hi all,
Sorry i haven't posted for a while either only have been ill with a virus, hence spent most of last week in bed! Anyway feeling better now and am going to forget last week and try and get on with some work this week (only have 4 weeks left to meet my deadline!). Anyway, todays aims:
Sort out all my figures for chapters 3,4,5 and 6.
Lara: Great to hear from you and don't you worry about last week either, that's in the past and sometimes it is good to have a few days off as you come back more refreshed!
Hope everyone has a great week!
morning. I took last week off and sadly it was not as relaxing as i had hoped. My gran is very ill and doesnt look like she will make it to my baby is born. But i did get the nursery pretty well sorted and husband got the garden well on its way and I tried to sleep some and visted my family lots. So today back to it - dont really know how much work i will get done in next while with all this going on. But i need to try.
So aims for today:
1. Finish key text for ch2
2. scan through some of new book for this chapter (I have to work tomorrow so wont get much time so this aim is to be finished tomorrow)
Hope everyone is well and ready to go again on a monday morning! Have a productive day and week.
Hi Tractorgirl, thanks
and sorry to hear you got ill. glad you are feeling better now. yep you're right lets just forget about last week and move forward
---
celesmai, i am so sorry to hear about your Gran I hope God willing she does get to see your baby. it must be such an emotional and stressful time for you, and hard to concentrate. that's good that you are trying but it's understandable in such a stressful atmosphere in not being able to concentrate.
----
my aims:
1. read and write notes on R cluster analysis (google articles).
2. R cluster analysis of 18 patients.
Hi All,
Celesmai : I'm really sorry to hear your gran is ill. My thoughts are with you through what must be a really difficult time. Try to stay strong and make sure you are looking after yourself. It might sound like a silly thing to say but when my grandad was really ill and i was trying to be strong for my mum and dad i couldn't eat or sleep and these are so important.
Lara: Hope you have had a good day today. Your posts are so encouraging and you are right that we should forget last week. It certainly sounds like both of us had a rubbish week!!
Anyway, as i am still not 100 % i am finishing for today. I managed to complete my aims!!!!!! Hopefully it will continue all week (fingers crossed!!) Hope everyone has a great evening and see you all tomorrow!!!!
tractorgirl, sorry to hear you're still not 100% - hope you get better real soon! try to take it easy the next few days until you're fully recovered.
well done on getting all your figures/aims done!! that is really excellent!
