Off I go to bed!!!
Gud night , sleep tight!!! n dont let the bed bugs bite!!!!!
lpve u all!!!
Lara, I can almost imagine you falling asleep under your laptop in your last post, I hope you're ok today. Great that it's nearly done though - you can squeeze those last bits out today and that will be it :-s then you can sleep all day and watch as many DVDS as you like - it will be paradise after all this lol! Oh yes!!!
Armendaf, thank goodness you pulled it out of the bag in time, so to speak - a great night's work! Let us know what happens with your supervisor, though it sounds like you've got a clear, eminently do-able plan for submission and hopefully will have no problems with your target date.
Pari, hope you have a good day in the lab! The whole lab thing is a complete mystery to me, but it sounds exciting if it's your first set of experiments! Equivalent to me visiting a new archive or talking to a new designer about their work, I guess.
Anyway.... it's sad but true, I am already in front of the computer as had nightmares last night about not completing in time, and thought it was best to get stuck in asap. :-s It annoys me when I dream about that stuff and the only way to stop it is to get on with the work.
See you later.
Thanks Ruby :-)
yep just need to fill in the missing sections today. i am gonna be so happy when its done!!
okay first aim, complete last remaining section for chapter 1. will post back when its done (battle face) :-s
and i also have nightmares too about thesis connected stuff!
you will complete in time you got plenty of time. the only thing i have learnt through this experience is that work you've done no matter how large or small everyday, counts towards the end. you get there one step at a time. oh and artificial deadlines really help too !! and having a daily routine of writing and working.

Hi girls,
So last might I emailed my supervisor everything that I've done so far and met him this morning. He still hasn't read what I handed in, and is concerned that even if he and/or somebody else reads it, there won't be time for corrections before submitting. But we agreed that there isn't another option really, and that the thesis does look like it's coming together. So just now I've got an email from him saying that he requested the extension and that he'll get to my chapters tomorrow and will email me again to set up a meeting. All in all, it didn't go too badly.
Today I can't do much since I'm stuck in work until at least 8pm, but tomorrow I will be giving it another go.
Rubyw, I know the feeling, although I don't usually dream like that, or remember if I did, for what it matters; but what does happen to me is that my mind is so busy with such thoughts that I find it difficult going to sleep sometimes and keep just turning around in bed... outcome: I'm wrecked the following morning. I hate it! :-s I hope you are feeling more relaxed now. How is it going today for you?
Lara, I also got that image of you slowly fading away with your fingers still on the keyboard and the computer on your lap. I hope that you've got some well deserved rest and that you are a bit less stressed about that chapter. If I wasn't following your progress, I think I would have already thrown in the towel myself; that, and the fact that I can't roll it over to the next year anymore ;-) But still, you are a great inspiration... Keep on going :-s
Pari, How did the lab meeting go?
So, now I should get some lunch and then clear my to do list before my lecture at 6pm.
Back later 8-)
Hi there,
Lara, glad you're up, I wondered whether you'd overdone it last night. One more little bit and the thing will be done and how magnificently, brilliantly, wonderful that will feel! :-s Yep, I agree with Armendaf, you are an inspiration!
Armendaf, that sounds like a good outcome for you, you'll get it done by the end of October. I was in that situation about not having ages for corrections, that's why I'm bringing my second draft forward to November so it gives me more time to incorporate all their feedback before submission. I'm probably taking too long over slightly pedantic citations etc now, but I'd rather treat this draft like the final one as much as possible.
I'm knackered now, it's that crappy night's sleep i had - refreshing it most definitely was NOT. I've got a fair bit done and am now debating whether to go for a bus ride to get a bit of shopping I need and for a change of scenery. I'll have a coffee and then decide - if my brain goes into pertinent thoughts mode, I'll carry on working. If not, Selfridges here I come.
See you later - good luck Lara :-s (up)
Thanks so much Armendaf for the lovely compliment, that really made me smile, i so appreciate it!
And thanks Ruby also for the kind words :-)
you all are such a pillar of support, and i would have chucked in the towel myself, if it werent for you guys and the constant support and encouragment!
i'm still working on chapter 1, hopefully will get it done within the next hour ! :-s
*starts egg timer*

Hi Girls,
Last thing I read from Anthropologa was that her computer was dead, so probably she hasn't got a new one and probably she is in some remote rural area with poor access to internet. Hopefully some day we'll hear back from our foremother and founder of the thread *raises his glass*.
I've just finished lecturing and am wrecked. I'll go home now and collapse in front of the telly while having dinner.
Lara, congratulations on finishing the chapter. I knew you'd pull it out in time ;-)
Rubyw, did you go shopping? I hope you get a better night sleep tonight.

Hello again!
Ooh Lara - chapter 1's done - well done!! Hope the next one gets done quicker - why do these things always take longer???? I'd like to think it's because we've got very high standards and don't want to just produce any old crap for the sake of it. Too diligent for our own good!
Armendaf, yes, have a good rest after teaching, it is tiring. Not that writing a thesis is a piece of cake either, but a different sort of tiredness.
I didn't go shopping in the end, for some reason I started writing again so decided to make the most of it. I had some funny idea that I'd finish this chapter. Huh, I was wrong there - naive or what! Why oh why haven't I finished it yet? I think it's because I keep realising what I've originally missed out in my scribbled edited draft and have to start writing new bits. Annoying. Maybe if I get a good night's sleep I can get up early and finish the thing before noon. And then start on another....aaarrrggghhh the tedium.
Oh well it'll be worth it in the end.
Good luck tonight Lara, and see you all tomorrow for Day 101.
