DanB and Stu prove a point... You maybe geeks or you maybe girls but ultimately boys will be boys.
Can a guy be a stud and a geek though? I mean if a female geek wanted boobs, they are easy enough to get. However if a male geek wants to be a stud (with all the properly sized attachments), he is stuck.
Perhaps I can even hypothesis that this is the reason behind why girls can be geeks and still have a partner and be happy but not so for the male geeks! They will just be male geeks who have to pay for fun! I would say this is the main disadvantage of being a male geek
hmmm, anyway going back to the original subject, I wouldn't call myself a geek. I know people outside the science world who don't know any real scientists expect them to have the stereotypical attitude and appearance. Yes I have come across scientists who do fit this stereotype but I honestly believe most people are relatively "normal", you wouldn't look at them and say "you are a boffin".
I know sometimes my friends call me geek/nerd when I say/do a certain thing but I think they mean it in a complimentary way. I think people expect me to look/dress like a geek because of what I do but to be honest I could probably pass off as a bimbo if I dressed up like one. Just because you are more intelligent than the average person and have a better knowledge of particular subjects, it doesn't make you a geek.
