don't know what to do

One year and upgrade

Jen, I've been known to cry in the loo too.

Hi Jen, I can really sympathise with you - earlier this year I was at a stage where my experiments just did not work, and I had no help from anyone becuase they were all so busy. I really felt like giving up. I eventually explained my problems to my supervisor, and we sorted it out. There have been many times that I've cried in the bog - so don't feel ashamed about that!! You should eapproach someone about this before it gets worse - don't be scared of your supervisor. Things have worked out so much better for me since I did that.

Just thought I would post an update. My supervisor came to visit me (I nearly passed out)! We had a meeting and I explained that I was worried i was falling behind. we set some targets and I asked how my supervisor how they thought I was doing. I'm feeling much better now and finally getting some work done!

long may it last (i hope)!

you should have a think about what you want to do - writing lists normally works for me! and then hassle ur superviser to read it or arrange a meeting! its in their interest to help u because it looks bad on them if a student complains or quits!! dont get too down, just be persistent - you'll wear them down eventually
