I actually agree with you, although I'd insert SUVs higher up the list. It's just that it the convenience society I don't have to faff around with predicting the weather, or putting all my clothes on radiators when I all I need to do is pull the big damp pile of clothes out of the washing machine and shove them on mass into the tumble drier and set the dial to one hour. Faster in fact, that it took me to write this post.
I agree that tumble driers are EVIL. In fact they are positively worse than dishwashers. I would never trust my clothes in a tumble dryer.
Forming a new society RSPCCD: Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Clothes and Dishes. You're all welcome to join. Not sure how I go about making it a Royal society though, do I have to ask the queen?
I think aerosol deodorant should definitely be banned from gym changing rooms. Fair enough if people wish to gas themselves in their own homes but trying to get changed in a small room with dozens of semi-naked women spraying various evil-smelling flowery chemicals about is not pleasant (although I expect DanB and Stu might think otherwise...!)
Glad bags for life got another mention; DanB is a new convert and can answer any questions on them.
Re dishwashers....err...I have one and live alone!! Only had it a few months and have to admit to loving it. It's a slimline, energy A-rated one and I only use it once a week. I'm convinced I use less water and detergent than hand washing and don't seem to have problems of marked glasses etc.
