My Friday thought for the day

S

Eeeek, just read back my post. What is the matter with my English today?

sylvester, Tumble Driers are the worst things in the world after guns and bombs in my opinion. Why don't you buy a couple of radiator airer/attachments and dry your clothes on them in the winter?

S

I actually agree with you, although I'd insert SUVs higher up the list. It's just that it the convenience society I don't have to faff around with predicting the weather, or putting all my clothes on radiators when I all I need to do is pull the big damp pile of clothes out of the washing machine and shove them on mass into the tumble drier and set the dial to one hour. Faster in fact, that it took me to write this post.

D

I agree that tumble driers are EVIL. In fact they are positively worse than dishwashers. I would never trust my clothes in a tumble dryer.

Forming a new society RSPCCD: Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Clothes and Dishes. You're all welcome to join. Not sure how I go about making it a Royal society though, do I have to ask the queen?

A mug is for life not just for Christmas?

Just thought of something I hate more than dishwashers and tumble dryers - spray deodrant. I hate it, hate it, hate it.
hate it when you go into a room and you can't breathe because someones just sprayed deodrant on in the interests of 'hygiene'

K

Or hairspray, thats the worst, it sticks the back of your throat together.

S

Ok, The war on tumble dryers and dishwashers is officialy declared. Eventhough I said i liked the tumble dryer it was only when I was in student halls, now as a phd student I dont spend money on those rubbish electronic products :-X

R

what about air fresheners?! grr hate them, open a bloody window! and the Glade plug-in /wisp adverts drive me insane!!!

A

I think aerosol deodorant should definitely be banned from gym changing rooms. Fair enough if people wish to gas themselves in their own homes but trying to get changed in a small room with dozens of semi-naked women spraying various evil-smelling flowery chemicals about is not pleasant (although I expect DanB and Stu might think otherwise...!)

K

Glad bags for life got another mention; DanB is a new convert and can answer any questions on them.
Re dishwashers....err...I have one and live alone!! Only had it a few months and have to admit to loving it. It's a slimline, energy A-rated one and I only use it once a week. I'm convinced I use less water and detergent than hand washing and don't seem to have problems of marked glasses etc.

K

So relieved you're still speaking to me DanB, after that admission. I was anti-dishwashers myself until I realised washing up sucks and can be almost eliminated.
