I quit my fulltime, mid-management decently paying job to move to another country and finish my PhD. Do you think I ever feel panic and worried about the choice? You better believe it. Especially with the economy tanking in the US, it can feel scary. I try not to think about those things, but being human, of course you do. I try to use the feelings of fright and panic to motivate myself to do a fantastic PhD. Fear is a good motivator!!!!
Hey Olivia!
I'm from Canada! Yay, another north american!
Anyway, I feel your 'pain' on the dropping everything and moving to a new country to follow a dream. That is me! There are days that I want to pull all of my hair out, but in the end, i think that it will all be worth it.......at least I am hoping. My mood has done some wild swinging, and I expect that it will do more over the course of this degree, but as of right now (in one hour it could be different ) I have no regrets.
That's so odd that we almost have parallel lives there!
