Well, I'm back again for another late night of working. I've made little progress today since I'm working on the hardest bits of my thesis. My sentences are like those of a 5 year old. So, anybody else going to be on the midnight express tonight?

I'm here , as per usual these days...

oh my word. I have just finished my last results section for my last experimental chapter. Well, the first draft anyway, but I always find that the hardest. I can almost sense the light....

Meanwhile, I must stop feeding Rishi the troll and do some actual work. I had a five hour nap today so there's no excuse for not staying up. Choo choo.

well that's the first full draft of the last experimental chapter done, thank god!! I'm starting to see the light...more of an aura at this stage but it's getting clearer! :) I think I may toddle off to bed now, got a whole pile of corrections to crack on with tomorrow and I think I shall treat myself with an 'early' night i.e. bed before 1.30am!!

Congrats, Algaequeen. I still have my discussion to write yet and a stoopid reflection chapter where I reflect on how I've developed as a researcher - yawn.

I'll be working till quite late tonight, but I have a new secret weapon - Abba! Thank God this forum's anonymous! I've found if I play Abba as I work, it keeps me awake and smiling at the same time. It's so bad, it's good. Knowing me and knowing you - ahhhhaaaaaa!

Too tired to continue tonight. I'll be up early to continue tomorrow. I have to post again because my last reply was number 666!

Hmm, well, I've been attempting to work since 8am.....still no progress. I did however just email a picture of the cookie monster to the postdoc I work with. He accused me of sending oddly timed and slightly "hysterical" emails the other day so I thought, hey, why disappoint the man?

Score! Two tomatoes and that chapter has really taken shape.
Hideous that it's taken me 20 hours to do one's work, but there we go.

Now for bed :-)

Okay, another night of writing. I just need to tell myself that this will all be over sooner or later. And I'll make doubly, doubly sure that if I ever do end up with an academic job, I'll never work like this again. Bloody research. Choo Choo.

Well happy birthday for tomorrow, Bilbo. 21 again, I hope! I have 2.5 chapters left to write as first drafts - but it's fiendishly difficult stuff. The I have to put the whole thing together and cut, edit and correct it. I'm hoping to submit by Xmas.

21 again!? Hah! I wish ;-) No I'm much closer towards 40 than that. But not there yet. Thanks for the best wishes. And all the best for your final push. I found that really scary, but also nice to be getting near the end. And it will be one heck of a Christmas present if you finish for then.

I've just sent off my last experimental chapter, thank god! Think I may do some references now before heading to bed, ridiculously tired these days... ah hoo.

And Wally, keep on trucking, you will get there. It's total misery, but some day you won't have to it anymore and just think how amazing that will be?! Than you won't have to inflict ABBA on yourself or anything, magic! ;-)
