Well, in the midst of what is possibly the worst day ever, I have just one goal...finish the thesis. Handing in tomorrow. And my uni online journal access site has just gone down today, as I'm doing references. Wonderful.
ugh, I promise next week I'll be in better form...
Good luck Algaqueen, I hope you get your references sorted! Just think how relieved you'll be after you've submitted.
My first goal is done. My next goal is to get the second chunk redrafted.
Goal 1 achieved, meeting with supervisors done, phew!
Goal 2 - write up notes from supervision meeting
Goal 3 - act on supervisors' comments on draft presentation
Goal 4 - Plan next steps
oh FFS! My whole entire PhD relies on one 'fact' e.g. people get fat eating chocolate.
My latest analysis shows NO correlation e.g. no relationship between fat people and chocolate!!
I'm now going to have to say that my sample is pretty poor because the fat people just aren't eating any blimmin chocolate :-s :-s:-s:-s
My second chunk is now redrafted. I now have one final chunk to work through (before going over it all again once I've drawn together the rest of the chapter because there are bits I'm still not happy with :-s). This will mostly have to wait until tomorrow though because I am going to the gym in a little while.
Goal 2 done, goal 3 done as far as I can face it, but pathetically I've lost all motivation and can't be bothered to work on that any more. I'll read a journal article instead, I think!
I made zilch progress today, just realised some basic errors. I suppose it could be said that I knocked many stones out of my wall.
I don't have a wall :-(
I stupidly took a sedative last night because I've not been sleeping well, so its taken until now to feel less bleary eyed.
plus I spent a good 30 mins fuming about the stupid man on the dog walking field who told me I hadn't been round long enough with my dog this morning - having been on 1hr walk! and his stupid wife wears WHITE jeans on a ploughed field after its rained, when she's dog walking = moron.
Goal 1: run correlations and write up in a nice APA format table
Sneaks- what an awful man! I hope you told him to p*ss off...
I'm just back from a doctor's appointment and did a big food shop. At least it got me out of bed, although not actually starting work at a reasonable time!
My first goal is to get the redraft of my literature section finished.
I just took pity on him for having such a moronic wife, although it did leave me feeling slight annoyed, especially as my dog was knackered after chasing pigeons the whole time across the ploughed field AND the fact I take her out twice a day.
oh dear, i still haven't done goal 1, just been staring at my screen :-( MUST work.
Goal 1a) get coffee
Goal 1b) put music on
Goal 1c) actually do goal 1 which was the correlation table.
I'm not getting along well with goal 1. I have done bits but its still full of comments (which I'll sort out once I've drawn the whole chapter together) and I need to pad out one of the sections, but could do with reading a couple of articles in the library first. I'm also kind of making excuses for myself because I have spent much of the morning distracted and excited about having just booked a hotel deal on Groupon. :$
One of my analysis sections still needs a lot of work so this is my next goal. Hopefully the change will stop me getting distracted again!
