My second goal is done (this involved moving some stuff around and a little bit of editing rather than writing from scratch!).
Now that I have a very rough subsection I'm going to print it out so I have it in front of me and spend the rest of the day editing. I would like to be more or less happy with this section by the end of the day on Friday.
Ugh...tonight I'm doing references. I hate references, soooo boring!!! And I know I'll have loads missing...looks like I'm here for the long haul, have to get it all done by tomorrow!!
...aaaaand all the references I've just done have all been wiped just as I went to save. Starting again...really here all night now :-s
Okay, done today:
Future research, contributions to knowledge, implications for clinical practice and conclusion. Later today, after some sleep, I will type them into my discussion chapter and look at refining the thing.
Oh no Algaequeen! I'd seriously cry if this happened to me. Did you get them all redone?
My goals today are:
1. Work on subsection of analysis.
2. Supervision meeting.
3. Read through comments on my chapter that I'm getting back from sup today, start thinking about addressing them.
4. Work more on ubsection of analysis.
I had a very positive meeting this morning. I have done a bit of work on my analysis but much of the rest of the day has been taken up with attending a seminar and some teaching prep. I feel like ie's too late in the afternoon to be getting back into my analysis, plus my concentration is dipping.
My final goal is to spend an hour starting to edit and cut a chapter into a journal article.
I'll admit Star-Shaped, there was a random tear, but mostly I was fighting the urge to fire my laptop against the wall. I've been doing them all day, turns out there were LOOOOOOADS that I hadn't got in my reference software, so I've been hunting refs, so so boring and time consuming. Meant to submit tomorrow and still have some corrections to do, and about half way through refs! not good! I'll not be sleeping much tonight I think!! Good work on the positive meeting though, I always find that helps boost motivation!
argh! you're nearly there though AQ!
I am doing RA work again today. My feet have a cold draft whipping across them for some reason, so might have to sit on the sofa and train dog to sit on them.
Goal 1: Add data to dataset.
Algaequeen, I hope you're getting there without too much stress. Think about how great you'll feel tonight when it's done!
Today I'm mainly working on my analysis. My major goal is to get one particular section sorted. I also need to:
1. Phone the bank (I have been putting it off all week).
2. Do a few small bits of teaching prep.
3. Make a few changes to the presentation I'm doing in a couple of weeks and to have a run through.
I am more or less happy with the analysis section I have been working on. I am also sick of this chapter for now. My next goal is to begin to sort out an introduction and methods section for a journal paper.
It's quiet today... I feel like my writing capabilities are burned out for today. I'm finding writing my introduction difficult but I'll be sure to make slow and steady progress over the next week or so.
My next goal is to cut down my analysis section.
ahhhh....
I did my first ever (work) all-nighter last night, got my stuff done, references and all, extra graphs, corrections, cover pages, lists of tables, lists of figures and all, racing against the clock to get everything printed and bound on time to hand in...and then, the List of Abbreviations appears. I had forgotten about it, and couldn't think of what to do, so at the urging of everyone in my office including staff, I will just bind everyting on monday when i get my abbreviations done. I have got 3 copies printed, one is bound and im taking it home to show off to everyone, cos I'm so so so chuffed!! Tired beyond belief, have had 4 hours sleep in 2 days, but I'm finished!!!

Thanks for all the lovely thoughts folks!!!
