Oh dear, I hope you feel better soon Sneaks! There's a lot of it going around at the moment. I'm coming down with something (after gloating over the last few weeks that I hardly ever get ill, how is that for karma) and I'm hoping it's just a cold rather than the dreaded lurgy which is going round the department at the moment!
I have done a good morning's work. I haven't quite finished the second section but I am now just over halfway through the document. My next goal is to put dinner in the slow cooker, have lunch, cycle to uni and then meet with my supervisor.
I just had a very inspiring meeting with my supervisor and feel quite daunted but excited about my final analytic chapter. Eeek. I feel like I really want to get on with it now but my final goal for the day has to be sorting out a couple of postdoc applications with deadlines which are tomorrow and Monday!
That sounds great, Star-Shaped, a real boost to keep you going.
And hope you feel better soon, Sneaks!
The fridge freezer repair man has been, and says it broke down because it couldn't cope with the cold temperatures in my flat. So I'll be demanding that my lettings agency pays the call-out fee, among other things I'll demand compensation for. Not that I think they'll hand over a penny, but it's another thing to keep pressuring them with. (They say my radiators should be delivered today or tomorrow, but so far no sign of an arrangement for them to actually come round and fit them. So that's now ten weeks of shivering cold...)
Anyway - goal 2 for today is to work on a presentation I'm giving next week. So I will go and work on that, when I can tear myself away from the timesuck that is the internet....
Happy Friday everyone! My first goal for today (because I didn't manage it yesterday) is to sort out application forms, finish writing a covering letter and to submit my applications.
Applications submitted. (up) I'm not quite sure how this took up half of the morning but nevermind.
My next goal is to work through and edit the second half of my analysis section.
Hello everyone.
Goal one of the day was to speak to the lettings agency about my repairs, and about compensation. I now have a provisional date for new radiators to be fitted - next Thursday. Yay! Only one more week of misery. And the lettings agency have offered me £85 compensation for the misery of the last ten weeks, though they're trying to get out of paying for the fridge freezer repairs. What do you think? Is £85 adequate compensation? Feels too little to me, but I might be overreacting because of the frustration of the last few weeks!
Goal two - work on presentation I'm giving next week. I just can't seem to settle to this work but it's got to be done!
My analysis section is now done and I'm almost completely happy with it to be ready to be sent to my supervisors. I'm quite worried about what they'll actually think about it though but hey ho.
My next goal is to work on (and possibly get sorted) my introduction section.
Happy Monday everyone (ugh). I have just done my last 9am class until February- thank God for that!
My first goal for today is to sort out one section of my introduction.
I *think* that is my introduction sorted. However having done that I now need to go back to the analysis and make some changes there, so that is my next goal.
allo everyone!
I'm doing RA work again today so..
Goal 1: track down the right data set and create scores
Morning! A late start for me today because I had my hair cut on the way in. My first goal is to do a few small bits such as sorting out haandouts for next week, printing, etc.
Printing out anything in my department is such a palava. :-s Half an hour wasted and I haven't been able to print anything.
My next goal is to finish writing an email to a potential Postdoc mentor.
