Today I am tying up loose ends and starting to pull everything together. My first goal is to sort out 2 sections in my methods chapter.
I managed to do nothing at all yesterday (didn't even wake up till lunchtime). Must have needed it!
Goals for today:
1.) Get final little bits of formatting done on journal paper and submit to journal
2.) Plan out revisions that need to be made to questionnaire
This morning I sorted out my methodology chapter (yay!), then spent the rest of the time faffing around at the gym, the library and on the phone sorting out a claim with a travel agent (which is finally being resolved!).
This afternoon I really need to blast it and start to get everything together. My next goal is to sort out a section of literature which is still all over the place.
I have decided just to cut out the stuff that I'm not clear on yet. Not ideal but I am running out of time!
I am now starting to pull everything together. My next goal is to ruthlessly edit one document, as I know my supervisor is going to tell me that the examiner isn't going to want to read 5000 on this particular topic.
Today I have to send everything to my supervisor. It is broken down into 3 documents, so my goals are to edit and link everything together one document at a time.
To achieve you goal make a planning and then keep focus on your target . To fulfill your target you have to be very careful and don't ever delay your planning and workouts .
Back to work after a few days of just messing around not doing much and going out socialising with my mates.... I think I burned out a little bit with all the crazy deadlines I had over the last few weeks, so a few days off were exactly what I needed. But now I have to get stuck into it again - and finding the motivation is painful now!
Goals for today:
1.) Edit questionnaire and produce new version to discuss with organisation hosting study in meeting tomorrow
2.) Identify three journal papers to take to training session on Wednesday
Good luck getting back into it. I'm feeling the same this morning after taking Friday to Sunday off. I should really have spent more time resting as I was so exhausted but ended up spending a lot of time in the pub and I'm feeling sluggish this morning!
My first goal is to have a flick through some discussion chapters as I have no idea what one should look like, and to belt out 500 words.
I did 600 words this morning and also made a couple of phone calls and sent an email regarding a job application. Then I took a huge break to pop into town so I'm not feeling like I am doing very well getting back into it. My goal for the rest of the afternoon is to write the summary for each of my analytic chapters to go in my discussion.
Sounds like you are making progress whatever though.
I've found the papers I need for Wednesday's training, and have made some progress on editing my questionnaire. Still a lot to do before the end of the day though. I don't want to stay late, my head is throbbing and I'm very tired after sleeping badly last night, but I have to get everything done today in preparation for tomorrow's meeting, so I can't go home till it's finished. Boo!
I hope you got everything done and weren't working too late!
My first goal today is to do a quick search for lecturing jobs to apply for and then to write 400 words of my discussion, before the gym.
Worked til 8pm, so got home from campus at about 9.30, which felt late enough! So I allowed myself a lie-in this morning and am just getting started on the day now.
Hope you find some good jobs to apply for!
Goals for today:
1.) Go back over redrafted questionnaire to identify areas to discuss with study host organisation
2.) Prepare for discussion of other issues with host organisation
3.) Go to this afternoon's meeting with organisation and hopefully plan out the data collection process! Yikes!
4.) If I have any extra time, look at journal articles for tomorrow's training session
I didn't find many jobs. I also just had an email rejecting my journal paper. :-(
I did get my 400 words written though!
I am now going to go to the gym which will help me dust myself off and feel better and then spend the afternoon preparing a different journal paper. I'm not giving up on the one I already have on the go and will submit it elsewhere but I'm not sure I can face working on it yet...
Oh no, sorry to hear that. Hope you find a suitable home for the article anyway!
I'm all prepared for this afternoon's meeting now, and don't want to read journal articles on a completely different topic before the meeting, so that's all my work done for now. Only an hour til I set off for meeting so may as well just mess around online until then!
