Heh, I used to have that problem with FB, so I disabled the chat function. Otherwise I'd never get any work done!
Good luck with it today, anyway.
Yesterday afternoon was spectacularly unsuccessful, so I'm going to try to achieve more today. Starting with the things I should have done yesterday! Goals for today:
1.) Finish drafting out cover email for survey
2.) Email journal editor about reviewing
3.) Contact second organisation about progressing the data collection
4.) Plan out work for remaining two weeks before summer school
5.) Start designing poster
Hmm, that little lot should keep me out of mischief.
ooh I didn't know you could disable it, I'm so rubbish with fb. I've just been tagged in an awful photo, so untagged myself - why don't people that tag you have to wait for your approval or something before it goes 'live' to everyone?? :$
Woo my first three goals are done and I've made major progress with the second host organisation for my study. Yay! Meeting them on Tuesday and if it goes well my data collection could start pretty rapidly after that. It's nice to finally feel things moving forward!
So now I just have to plan out the remaining work for the next two weeks and then design a poster. And then go to the pub and show off the lovely new clothes I'm currently modelling :-)
PS Sneaks, to disable chat on FB just click on the Chat bar, look under Options and put yourself offline. That has saved me so much stress!
I just had a response from the first organisation hosting my study with feedback about my questionnaire - phew, all looking good. And tomorrow I meet the second organisation to discuss it too. Tense, but positive. So today my goals are:
1.) Respond to first organisation to finalise a few details
2.) Make final changes to paper version of questionnaire and print ready to discuss tomorrow
3.) Make changes to online version of questionnaire to get ready to launch with first organisation
A very late start for me today. I'm just going to do a half day to ease myself in after the weekend. My house is still full of festival goers and I'm tempted to join them to go out for lunch but I won't get anything done if I do!
My first goal is to edit the analysis sections of my journal paper.
Today I really, really need to feel like I'm making progress on my discussion. My goal for the morning is to rewrite some of the rubbish stuff and increase the word count by at least 400.
Just about managed my 400 words.
My next goal is to see how far I can get redrafting a data chapter following comments from my supervisor.
Sounds like you are getting back into it, star-shaped.
Just got back home after my meeting with the second host organisation, and now I have to rush to get the changes to the questionnaire discussed this morning ready for the final version to go live in a couple of days or so. Yikes! But it's all very encouraging and exciting, and it looks like my data collection will actually happen. Yay!
Goals for today:
1.) Make final decisions about the wordings discussed this morning
2.) Edit online versions of questionnaires to match
3.) Do some laundry! I'm wearing my very last clean clothes :$
well spent ALL morning faffing about doing a stupid task for another project, but the deadline was today. I've taken the dog for a walk, driven for 2 hours and got home, eaten lunch - now feel really sleepy :$
As this blatently isn't going to be a productive day..
Goal 1: email students
Goal 2: make a cup of tea and eat remaining pavlova (No this won't be too hard to complete)
Goal 3: print out chapter 4 and see what i need to do for the rest of the week and create a plan of action!
Mmm pavlova..
I have now addressed all of the minor comments on the chapter and one of the more major comments. I'm leaving it for now as I have to prepare for supervision tomorrow and then to spend some time working on job applications (also in preparation for a careers appointment tomorrow).
oh dear, I've not done goal 1 yet, and only made the tea, no pavlova.
I need to go on a dog walk, and then I need to go to pets at home, and then I'll come back and have an evening of ticking this all off the list!
Oh you're all giving me a pavlova urge now....
Managed to spend most of the afternoon messing around on the internet and updating some completely pointless admin forms. So now I need to keep working for longer than I intended to get a few more things done. But I have at least done some laundry!
Morning everyone!
Today I need to finalise two slightly different versions of my questionnaire, and update their online versions. That sounds nice and straightforward, doesn't it? We'll see...
