Wow sneaks, welcome to my world of childcare while trying to study lol. I always find a movie (such as toy story 3) works a treat for the eldest at 2 1/2 years, while I catch up on bits. So I need to summary the findings for my validation chapter, just in case I get asked.
Validation chapter findings summerised to give me pointers/extra revision. Now to prep notes on if and why my key findings differ to work of the key authors. Funny how I am feeling more detached from my thesis the closer the viva gets, yet the panic is rising as to how little I feel I have done and how little time I have left........I hope this is normal!
I hope you got your work for today done Sneaks. Dunni, it sounds like the prep is going well!
Today I'm going to see how far I get with making my literature review thesis ready. I still have to address my supervisors comments on a chunk of it so that is my first goal (this may actually take up the whole day but let's see...).
Morning all.
I'm SO easily distracted, I've just realised that it took me the best part of 2 days to read an 80 page document! This is not good :$ I really need to get my bum in gear and get something done. So:
Goal 1- find 2 easy bits of my lit review to edit
First goal done. My next goal is to go through each section again as there are a few things which still need changing and to link everything together.
Evening all, am I the only one working tonight? I have so many things to do but I shall try to set smaller tasks and hopefully tick some of my list.
Goal 1 is to finish doing post-it notes for chapter 5, 6 and 7 just outlining key areas/findings of the chapters.
Goal 2 is to finish answering the final viva Q on my list.
Goal 3 if I get there, is the start re-reading my prepared viva answers.
I'm at the keyboard as well Dunni after returning home from drive with my daughter-gosh I hope she passes the test first go so I can be be released from driving practice duties! Self-imposed deadline of Friday to revert to my supv with the changes to my draft. I should make it, just about! Going to Bon Jovi tomorrow night probably won't help matters though!
Good luck with your goals; countdown to next week must really be on. You can do it(up)
Hi Ady, wow teaching your daughter to drive sounds like a harrowing experience to me!!! I hope she passes first time too. Glad to hear you are on track for returning your thesis to sup. Always good to get it back so that you can wind down a little and contemplate submission. I found it difficult to know what to do while waiting for my sup to return with comments, now I would suggest filing, tidying, setting aside key refs to viva, thinking about potential questions for viva (adding clarification now is good), checking out printing/binding costs in readiness. Amazing what hindsight can do lol. I really hope you get the go ahead when it gets returned to you next.
I have done half of goal 1, I did stop for some dinner though. Onwards with ch 6. Nice to know I am not working alone (up)
Morning all! I have already got up (achievement in itself), showered, got kid ready for school, taken kid to school, found right classroom, left her with other children that looked the same, so I assume its her school!, got back, managed to reverse the car out of the drive way as builders blocked my front route out = major achievement cos I hate reversing and there are 2 horrible gateposts to crash into :-) taken dog for a walk, had toast and now ready to start PhD work!
Goal 1: Re-read work I did last week & note down areas for improvement.
